Solar subclass got the 3.0 treatment in Season of the Haunted, it was the second light subclass to receive Aspects and Fragments after Void in Season of the Risen. Solar contains three Aspects for all classes as well as a collection of 16 Fragments.
The Aspects for Warlock focuses on movement as well as Grenades. For Hunters, the Aspects focus on being Radiant as well as some weapon bonuses and crowd control while the Aspects for Titans revolve around throwing hammers.
9 Consecration
Consecration is a Titan Aspect that improves your melee. It states “While sliding, activate your charged melee ability to launch a wave of Solar energy forward, damaging and scorching targets in front of you as you leap in the air.”
Consecration also has a second part in which “While airborne, activate your charged melee again to slam to the ground and create a second larger wave of damaging Solar energy. If the wave hits a Scorched target, they ignite.”
8 Gunpowder Gamble
Gunpowder Gamble is a Hunter Aspect that works as “Defeat targets with Solar abilities, Solar debuffs or Solar weapons to charge up an improvised Solar Explosive. Use the Grenade button to throw a Solar explosion that can be shot in mid-air to cause an ignition.”
Gunpowder Gamble requires 6 charges to use the improvised Grenade. These 6 charges can be obtained quickly by killing higher-tier combatants. Gunpowder Gamble is only useful if you are using a build that prioritizes crowd control.
7 On Your Mark
On Your Mark is a Hunter Aspect that improves weapon performance as it states “Precision final blows grant you and nearby allies increased weapon handling and reload speed for a short duration. Activating your class ability immediately grants maximum stacks of On Your Mark.”
On Your Mark stacks up to three times with each stack providing increased benefits to weapon performance. On Your Mark is a must-have Aspect if you are running Gunslinger in The Crucible. In PvE, having extra reload speed is never a bad option.
6 Heat Rises
Heat Rises is a Warlock Aspect that states “You can fire weapons, melee, and throw grenades while gliding. Hold your grenade to activate Heat Rises healing yourself and nearby allies. Consuming a Healing Grenade grants a stronger Cure effect.”
Heat Rises also provides some benefits while you are airborne as final blows while airborne increase the duration of Heat Rises and grant melee energy. Giving back melee energy makes Heat Rises extremely necessary for the popular Sunbracers Warlock build.
5 Icarus Dash
Icarus Dash is a movement Aspect for Warlocks and it works by allowing you to dodge while being Airborne. Icarus Dash has been extremely popular even before it was released as an Aspect. It is extremely popular in doing speed runs as well as in The Crucible.
Icarus Dash also has a special interaction with Warlock Aspect Heat Rises. If Heat Rises is active, you can use Icarus Dash two times instead of just one. After you have used your Icarus Dash charges though, you have a cooldown of 5 seconds.
4 Knock ‘Em Down
Knock ‘Em Down is an Aspect for Hunters that has two functionalities. Its first functionality is “Your Solar Supers are enhanced. Deadshot Golden Gun has damage resistance. Marksman Golden Gun has increased duration, and Blade Barrage launches more projectiles.”
While the extra damage given to Blade Barrage is certainly nice, the second functionality of Knock ‘Em Down is extremely good for builds that involve Throwing Knife. Knock ‘Em Down also states “While Radiant, final blows with your equipped Throwing Knife fully refunds your melee energy.”
3 Touch of Flame
Touch of Flame is an Aspect of Warlocks that greatly enhances Solar grenades. Note that it only provides benefits to Fusion, Solar, Healing, and Firebolt Grenades. Touch of Flames is a must-have for any Solar Warlock build while the other two Aspects can be swapped.
Touch of Flame states “Your Healing, Solar, Fusion and Firebolt Grenades have enhanced functionality.” Touch of Flames improves the healing effect provided by Healing Grenades, increases the linger duration of Solar Grenades, increases the target search radius of Firebolt Grenades, and makes Fusion Grenades explode twice.
2 Roaring Flames
Roaring Flames is an Aspect for Titans that works as “Final blows with Solar abilities or Ignitions increase the damage of your Solar abilities.” Kills with Solar abilities will grant a 20 percent damage bonus to Solar abilities.
Roaring Flames can stack up to 3 times, each stack will refresh the duration of the buff. Roaring Flames lasts for about 10 seconds and it is extremely easy to maintain on Titans thanks to unlimited Throwing Hammers.
1 Sol Invictus
Sol Invictus is a Titan Aspect that is used for the generation of Sunspots. Sol Invictus states “Solar ability final blows, Hammer of Sol impacts and defeating scorched targets create Sunspots. Your abilities regenerate faster and your Super drains more slowly while standing in a Sunspot.”
Sunspots also apply Scorch to nearby combatants and also provide you with one stack of Restoration upon entering a Sunspot. Sunspot causes your abilities to regenerate 50 percent faster and Sol Invictus overall provides some amazing benefits.
