The Void subclass got the 3.0 treatment with the launch of The Witch Queen expansion and the launch of Season of the Risen. Each subclass got access to 3 brand-new Aspects as well as a collection of Fragments in Destiny 2.
Warlocks have Aspects that focus on crowd control and devouring, Hunters have Aspects that are all about Invisibility, while Titans have Aspects that focus on generating Overshields. Each of these Aspects can greatly change the way how you play with the Void subclass.
9 Trapper’s Ambush
Trapper’s Ambush is an Aspect for Hunter that allows a player to easily make themselves and nearby allies invisible. Trapper’s Ambush is only useful when you are required to make allies invisible in harder content, other than that it barely has any use.
It states that the “Player can activate Quickfall to spend their melee charge and dive to the ground, creating a smoke cloud upon impact. Enemies caught in the cloud are weakened and allies become invisible. In addition, Snare Bombs, upon attaching to surfaces or enemies, cause nearby allies to become invisible.”
8 Feed The Void
Feed the Void focuses on Devour as it states “Defeating a target with a Void ability to activate Devour. While Devour is active, final blows restore health and extend Devour.” Devour is the strongest elemental buff in the game, thanks to its instant healing and grenade ability regeneration.
Feed the Void used to be extremely potent, but with the launch of Lightfall and the new build crafting system, the Void Fragment Echo of Starvation can also do what Feed the Void does much easier in certain situations. Echo of Starvation only requires Orb of Powers whereas Feed the Void requires Void ability kills.
7 Controlled Demolition
Controlled Demolition is an Aspect of Titans that focuses on the Volatile. It states “Hitting a target with a Void ability or Volatile detonation will make them Volatile.” Controlled Demolition is unfortunately overshadowed by the other two Titan Aspects.
Controlled Demolition is amazing for the builds that require you to spread Volatile to other nearby combatants but provided how good Void Overshields are in Destiny 2 and how easily the other two Titan Aspects provide you with Overshields, Controlled Demolition barely sees any use.
6 Vanishing Step
Vanishing Step is a Hunter Void Aspect and is quite simple in functionality but extremely potent. Vanishing Step states “Dodging makes you invisible.” As a Hunter, it is not difficult to maintain your dodge as you have various build crafting options and Exotics to gain class ability energy.
With any build, that can provide you with more class ability energy, Vanishing Step is extremely good. The best Exotic armor piece to pair with Vanishing Step is Sixth Coyote, which provides an extra dodge.
5 Child Of The Old Gods
Child of the Old Gods is pretty iconic Warlock Aspect and works as “Cast your rift to create a Void Soul. When you damage a target with a weapon, your Void Soul flies to them and drains them, doing damage and weakening them.”
When a target is being drained, you are granted grenade and melee energy (if running healing rift) or health (if you are running empowering rift). Defeating a target who is being drained by your Void Soul also grants class ability energy.
4 Stylish Executioner
Stylish Executioner belongs to the Hunter Void subclass and states “Defeating a Weakened, Suppressed, or Volatile target grants Invisibility and Truesight. After performing a Stylish Execution, your next melee attack while invisible weakens the target.”
Stylish Executioner works extremely well with a build that chains Void debuffs. Stylish Executioner is especially good with Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk thanks to how easily it spreads Volatile.
3 Offensive Bulwark
Offensive Bulwark is a Titan Aspect that enhances your ability regeneration when you have an Overshield. It works as “While you have an Overshield or are inside Ward of Dawn, your Grenade recharges significantly faster, you have increased melee range and damage, and melee final blows extend the duration of your Overshield.”
Offensive Bulwark is a must-have for any build that prioritizes Overshields, as the benefits it provides cannot be ignored. Offensive Bulwark also allows you to gain an additional shield throw while in Sentinel Shield.
2 Chaos Accelerant
Chaos Accelerant is a Warlock Void Aspect stating, “Overcharge your grenade, making it deadlier and more effective.” Chaos Accelerant does not work for every Void grenade, it only improves Vortex grenades, Axion Bolts, Scatter grenades, and Magnetic grenades.
Chaos Accelerant is an extremely important Void Aspect for grenade build. This Aspect shines with the Warlock Exotic Contraverse Hold. Contraverse Hold along with Chaos Accelerant and Vortex grenades on their own provide you with 100 percent grenade uptime.
1 Bastion
Bastion is a Titan Void Aspect that is all about providing Overshields. Bastion has two functionalities, the first one is when you cast your Super you grant Overshields to nearby allies. The main appeal of Bastion comes from its second functionality.
Bastion improves the Titan Barricades as it works by “Casting your Barricades grants Overshields to yourself and nearby allies and empowers it, enabling it to slowly regenerate the Overshields of allies bunkering behind it and extend their Overshield duration.”
