It’s fair to say Insomniac Games has a number of surprises waiting for comic book fans in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, in addition to heavyweights from Spidey’s rogues’ gallery, such as Kraven the Hunter and Venom.
With areas like Hell’s Kitchen on the map and Doctor Strange sharing the same concrete turf as Peter Parker, fans were expecting at least a few Easter eggs and landmarks of interest to make the Gamerverse feel as connected as the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Here’s where to find the Sanctum Sanctorum in Spider-Man 2.
~ Warning: This post contains SPOILERS for Spider-Man 2. ~
Where To Find The Sanctum Sanctorum
Despite being taken to the Sanctum Sanctorum’s precise location during the main story, it can be rather difficult to track down again after leaving the area, unless you remember to make a note of its location before continuing the narrative.
In case you cannot find Doctor Strange’s base again in the concrete jungle, we’ve marked its precise location on the map above. The Sanctum Sanctorum is located in the southeast corner of the Greenwich district, which is the bustling region just above the Financial District on the city map, next to Chinatown, and below Midtown. This area is populated mostly by office blocks and businesses, but the Sanctum building sticks out like a sore thumb on this street.
The building itself is located on a rather quiet street for New York, dotted with various trees and plant life, and the structure is a Victorian-style brownstone townhouse built with a French Baroque architecture design in mind with concrete window frames and pillars overlooked by two, small figures. Traditionally, the Sanctum is a three-story townhouse, though this version of the Sanctum could have four levels, including the attic. The building’s defining feature is The Window of the Worlds which normally connects to the mediation chamber and is designed after the Seal of the Vishanti.
Within this district, you also have the following tasks to perform in order to complete the district’s progress, which may be worthwhile if you’re visiting the area for the Sanctum Sanctorum:

- Photo Ops x2
- Prowler Stashes x1

Black Cat’s Return Serves A Mystical Easter Egg
Felicia Hardy returns as Black Cat in the tenth mission of Spider-Man 2 titled Make Your Own Choices. The character had a small part to play in Insomniac’s predecessor when Spider-Man had to track down the vigilante’s cat symbols all over the city.
In the sequel, Black Cat is being pursued by Kraven’s hunters, and since Peter is convinced that he’s not the man to warn her about it because she’s his ex, he asks Miles to track her down instead. MJ assists by giving Miles Felicia’s address, but there’s been a ruckus on her rooftop balcony that needs to be investigated with samples also needing to be analyzed.
After reconstructing the scene, an explosion causes Miles to investigate a generator and link a bunch of electrical nodes together before being able to open a safe containing a postcard from Paris and details pertaining to the Wand of Watoomb. MJ informs Miles that the wand is a mystical artifact used to open portals Doctor Strange style.
The mission leads you to the Sanctum Sanctorum itself, which is surrounded by a bunch of Hunters that Miles has to defeat. After eliminating all enemies, Black Cat appears through a portal in front of Miles using the wand and he follows. What transpires is an entertaining chase through said portals that take you to different locations in the city and the world, including one that sees you swinging through somewhere that looks like Antarctica. After catching up with Felicia, you learn that she is trying to get to Paris in order to check that her girlfriend is safe and asks Miles for his help.
After defeating a final bout of Hunters at the zoo, Felicia asks Miles to grab the wand with her and think of the Eiffel Tower, which successfully opens a portal to Paris that Felicia walks through. After thanking Miles for his help, the portal closes, and Spider-Man tries to use the wand in order to see Martin Li’s location, but before he can, the wand disappears and the following note replaces it in Miles’ hand:
“Sorry, just got back from Nepal. The Doctor and I owe you one. – Wong”
This note is, of course, from the current Sorcerer Supreme in the MCU, and ally to Doctor Strange, who is also referenced in the note. After earning 2000XP for completing the mission, MJ will call Miles to tell him that Felicia is safe.
