Apex Legends Mobile brought Electronic Arts $12.4 million and it’s not enough

Apex Legends Mobile’s new season clearly didn’t help the game beat Genshin Impact’s record for revenue.

Domestic and foreign publications like to measure numbers. For example, Apex Legends Mobile made $12.4 million. Is that a lot or a little? Actually it is very little – even Diablo Immortal, which gamers and the media consider a failure of the year, brought the developers $24 million for two weeks. But if those numbers aren’t impressive either, let’s remember the first month after the launch of Genshin Impact – MiHoVerse got $245 million, and Pokemon GO brought in a whopping $283 million for Niantic.

But you can tell that the comparison is with games from different genres and even weight classes. Okay, then let’s compare revenue for the first week – Apex Legends Mobile earned $4.8 million, while Call of Duty Mobile earned $14.8 million for the week of release. But it’s not all bad – Apex Mobile earned more than PUBG: New State – the Krafton brainchild brought in only $2.6 million for the first week. I should note that data is not collected in China, and looking at the top regions by revenue, it’s mostly the US and Japan.
