Choice of difficulty is perhaps the point of pride in Fire Emblem Warriors: 3 Hopes. Sure, sometimes you get the best rewards, but when it comes down to it, it all depends on whether you’re willing to take on the challenge. So, for your first playthrough of the game without the New Game+ bonus, what difficulty should you choose?
If you want to fully enjoy Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, we highly recommend you play on the following difficulties Normal. This difficulty makes enemies moderately tough and allows you to deal a moderate amount of damage. On Hard difficulty it takes much longer to defeat infantrymen. They also deal a bit more damage, which of course defensive units like Dimitri can handle, but which can be fatal for mages like Lysitia.
If you think normal mode is “too easy,” play classic mode! The added risk of having to keep your units alive will be more than enough to give missions a much-needed challenge. Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes controls are not very responsive (especially if you play in handheld mode) and are a bit laggy, so battles in Hard mode will be much harder.
If Normal mode becomes too easy, you can always change the difficulty before combat.
How to change the difficulty in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes
- On the pre-fight menu screen, select System
- Go to settings
- On the Game Settings tab, change the difficulty
By the way, in the same way you can change the game difficulty to “Easy” to make it easier to pass the side missions. There is no need to go through the mobs again and again if you don’t want to.
The only thing you can’t change in the game settings tab is the mode. So before you start the game, make a reasonable choice between Casual and Classic modes.
