Via the official information site Halo Waypointcommunity writer Alex Wakeford mentions that the seasonal model in Halo MCC will be coming to an end very soon.and will be replaced by a “Series” model which will be implemented in the next title update. Despite the name change, Spartan points will still be earned by completing challenges and leveling up to unlock items in the game, but 343 Industries is also looking to charge real money for these points.
Age of Empires 4 details its seasons 2 and 3.
While Wakeford’s statements make it clear that the purchase of Spartan Points will be optional, such microtransactions have traditionally come as a surprise to those who believe that some games are balanced to motivate players to pay real money to obtain a specific item before it becomes unavailable.
343i explores the possibility of adding microtransactions in Halo MCC
‘This would be an optional, additive alternative for players who may find the wide variety of content an intimidating amount of play time and want to get ahead of (or skip) the routine, or perhaps want to grab specific items they want to acquire as soon as possible.‘ Said Alex Wakeford in his statement. If getting ahead of the routine refers to playing less but paying more it may reinforce beliefs of paying so you don’t run out of an item with some exclusivity. However, it remains to be seen what the introduction of microtransactions in Halo MCC will look like.if they are introduced at all.
