The company has once again “pimped” its browser, focusing on its gaming capabilities. Not only the application became more energy-efficient, ceasing to take resources from games, but also got new built-in tools for fans of PC-gaming.
One of the most useful innovations is the power efficiency mode. When it is activated, the browser will “sleep” after detecting the launch of a game and will not consume system resources. This will allow you to squeeze the most out of the iron during gameplay and continue working in Edge at the end of the game session without data loss.
Another feature, called Clarity Boost, is designed for users of the Xbox Cloud Gaming service. It uses an algorithm of scaling, making the picture in the broadcasted games clearer. Microsoft has been testing its work for the last six months and announced a number of improvements in image quality on the client side.
Finally, the company has created a gaming homepage for Edge that includes news, live streaming and quick access to Xbox services. The browser also features a new game menu with free casual and arcade games such as Microsoft Solitaire. All of the new features are already available in the current version of Edge 103. You may need a VPN to use them in Russia.
