Yesterday it became known that Microsoft will continue its policy of gradually reducing its presence in Russia. In practice, however, this presence has already been almost completely phased out: games from Microsoft’s internal studios cannot be purchased legally in Russia, Windows 10/11 can no longer be downloaded from the official site, and technical support has been discontinued. In other words, Microsoft and its companions are behaving like the AI in the Sid Meier’s Civilization games.
Now the domestic edition. GameMAGCiting its sources, reports that Microsoft has disbanded the Russian division of the Xbox and fired all of its employees, which will be officially announced in the coming days, most likely on June 30. As far as we know GameMAG, the next game releases will still receive Russian-language localization, while the games scheduled for release in the medium and long term, and translation may not be.
Microsoft has not yet commented on the information received.
