A few weeks ago the isometric RPG detective Pentiment from Obsidian Entertainment studio was announced. Even at the time of the announcement it was too obvious that for a full immersion into this tangled plot critically requires a confident knowledge of the English language. Well, or the presence in the game translation into Russian – the latter was hard to believe for objective reasons. But the developers assured that the localization will appear, but not immediately.

About the forthcoming translation into Russian Pentiment authors reported in their official microblog. From the same small message it became known that the project will be translated not only into Russian, but also into German, French, Italian, Spanish, Polish and Portuguese. Translations for these languages will be provided by Pentiment at the time of its release. And support for Japanese, Russian, Simplified Chinese and other languages will appear “sometime after release.”.

Pentiment is a historical role-playing detective, with a special focus on character development, and the player’s decisions have a strong influence on the course of the narrative. The game is made in the author’s graphic style. Events unfold in Germany in the early 16th century. The focus is on a talented illustrator who finds himself drawn into the events surrounding a series of murders that have been taking place in Kirsau Abbey for 25 years.

Relying solely on his intelligence and willpower, the hero does his best to bring the killers to justice, but each decision leads to far-reaching consequences and brings him inexorably closer to the heart of the conspiracy. Pentiment is to be released in November 2022, the target platforms are not only PC, but also Xbox-family consoles. Of course, the project will be added to the Game Pass library at the moment of release.

Unfortunately, we don’t know when the project will get Russian localization. For now.
