From Software president Hidetaka Miyazaki talks about the final stage of development of the new game

From Software has had a great year, releasing Elden Ring to critical acclaim and a positive reception from fans. In fact, Elden Ring is probably on its way to winning many GOTY awards at the end of the year. However, as it turns out, From Software has another secret project in development, sparking rumors that a new Armored Core may be on the way after all these years.

In an interview with Japanese website 4Gamer, From Software president Hidetaka Miyazaki confirmed that the studio is working on a second game, along with Elden Ring, and that it is “in the final stages” of development.

What’s interesting is that the news comes just a few months after we last heard about a new Armored Core game. A similar project has been in and out of the rumor mill for years, but earlier this year From Software sent out a survey asking consumers for their opinions on the new Armored Core, and even attached screenshots and gameplay videos.

Given that the new Armored Core was leaked several months ago, it seems likely that this is the project Miyazaki has in mind. If the game is close to completion, it should also be close to being announced, so maybe we’ll see From Software at one of Jeff Keagley’s upcoming events again this year.

It’s been years since From Software last released an Armored Core game. Would you want them to revive the franchise?
