Activision Blizzard’s purchase of Xbox. was announced earlier this year by Microsoft. After going through the worst time with the Californian studio due to accusations of harassment and other inappropriate labor practices, the Redmond-based company surprisingly announced that it had reached an agreement to acquire the studio.

However, an acquisition of this size has to go through the appropriate legal channels, as we have been reporting in recent months. Indeed, in early July, we reported that the UK’s main competition authority was already investigating the transaction, and that its decision would presumably come in early September. However, it seems that the companies already consider the purchase of Activision Blizzard by Xbox to be a done deal.such as Sony.

Xbox’s purchase of Activision Blizzard is getting closer and closer.

During the process to validate Microsoft’s acquisition, different video game companies were asked, including Sony, Warner Bors, Ubisoft or Bandai Namco among others. Although most of them assured that every game has a close competitor, the creator of the PlayStation brand assured that there is no company capable of creating a direct competitor (in terms of influence) to Call of Duty, a title capable of making a difference when deciding the system on which to play.

Therefore, Sony assured that. the loss of the Call of Duty franchise as a result of Activision Blizzard’s purchase by Xbox would be difficult to replace.so we presume that they took a position against this move, or at least regarding the loss of the franchise for the PlayStation system. Finally, it seems that Sony is tremendously negative about the acquisition, giving it practically for closed.
