Pokémon Unite Boss Rush Key Features
Pokémon Unite PvE Debut
Let’s start with the basics: Boss Rush is a new quick battle format that will be the first Player vs. Environment (PvE) game mode in the MOBA game. Five players will have to team up to fight against powerful Boss Pokémon and try to destroy them all in the set time, which is 5 minutes. This is a time limit for other quick battles as well. Since this is a PvE mode, it has the least amount of competition among players. Therefore, the mode becomes more exciting for some.
Earn points by defeating bosses
There is no way to fight opponents here. There will be a Pokémon boss that is already in the game in other game modes. Five players, teaming up, will have to knock him out. Each player will earn points by defeating powerful bosses in this new game mode. The points earned will be added to the current UNITE squad’s points bank. In this way, players can play with their comrades to maximize reward opportunities!
Combat Challenges
Players can choose from 3 levels of difficulty. Players can choose between Casual (easiest) mode, Intermediate (the highest degree of boss protection), or Extreme (higher Boss Attack and Defense modes).
Pokémon Unite Boss Rush Mode: Bosses
Boss Rush consists of three stages, each with different bosses. Players must defeat three Pokémon bosses within 5 minutes in the least amount of time possible, and your team must have a maximum of UNITE players. Listed below are the bosses that appear in the three stages of the game. Random bosses appear in the first two stages of each game. But the final boss is always the same.
Stage | Boss |

Pokémon Unite Boss Rush Mode: Motions and how to deal with them
Listed below are the moves that bosses use in the game. Players avoid these moves in order to take minimal damage and last longer in the game. Here are tips for players to dodge.
Araquanid
- Sticky Web: Araquanid spreads a web across the battlefield, which slows all pokémon in range (AoE).
- How to avoid: This technique is fairly easy to avoid. Players pay attention to the red indicator when Araquanid is about to throw his web. Also, the web stays on the ground for some time, so avoid it at all costs.
- Hydropomp: Arakanid charges water from his gut and launches a powerful water beam attack in a straight line.
- How to avoid: This movement hits in a straight line, so use the charge time to avoid the red kill zone at all costs.
- Family Appeal: Aracanid summons a cluster of dewclaws that work in unison, destroying everything in their path.
- How to avoid: Dewpiders can easily end up all around you. So players should try to focus on them before Arakanid appears. Their HP is quite low. So they won’t be much of a headache.
Avalugg
- Iron Defense: Avalugg summons huge shields to enhance his defense and survive enemy attacks.
- How to Avoid: This move is used to defend Avalugg, not to hit the Pokémon. Players must continue to attack as long as this move is in effect. This move will not bother me much. In the case of Intermediate or Extreme modes, the plot may be different.
- Ice Winds.: Avalugg causes frigid winds in a cone, damaging and freezing pokémon caught in the effect.
- How to Avoid: Players must run toward the cone or use the eject button to get away quickly!
- Quick Spin: Avalugg spins around himself and sucks anything that comes into range. He then launches a powerful strike that can push them back a great distance!
- How to Avoid.: Players must be careful when near Avalugg, as he can perform this move at any time. When they see him making this move, they should not approach Avalugg, as he may pull them behind him for a big finish! Players should try to stay away from the boss during this move.
Drednaw
- Rocky Mountain: Dreadnow summons a multitude of rocks from the sky, targeting all allied pokémon in the area.
- How to avoid.: Players must keep in mind that this turn has multiple instances that track them as they move. Therefore, players must constantly move and move away from the red indicator.
- Body Slam: Drednaw hits the ground twice with his huge body, creating two different kill zones for each.
- How to avoid: The strike zone of the first slam is next to Drednaw. They must keep their distance. In addition, the second slam’s kill zone is wider. It is safe under Drednaw, players must approach the pokemon at this stage and pass under its belly.
- Hydro Pump: Dreadnought charges water from within itself and launches a powerful water beam attack in a straight line.
- How to Avoid: This move hits in a straight line, so use the charge time to avoid the red kill zone.
Zapdos
- Shockwave: Zapdos electrifies his enemies, creating a zone of electricity around them. When electrified enemies approach their allies, they can deal massive damage.
- Tips: Players should always avoid their teammates when Zapdos makes this move!
- Brave Bird: Zapdos selects a specific area on the map and then goes down to destroy anything that comes into the kill zone.
- Tips: When a player targets this turn, they should move to the outside of the circle! They usually have enough time to do this. So they should just keep moving! Players should move away from the drop zone.
- Charge Beam: Zapdos charges quickly and unleashes a quick thunderbolt attack from his mouth. It does not show the kill zone, so players should prepare for it.
- Tips: Although this technique does not show the hit zone, it is easy to avoid by constantly being behind Zapdos.
- Random Thunder attacks: Zapdos periodically releases random Thunder attacks into the sky, indicated by a red hit zone appearing out of nowhere.
- Tips: Players must keep moving, because Zapdos will make this movement periodically during your battle! Consequently, don’t stand still, keep moving.
Articuno
- Blizzard: Articuno first summons huge icy stones, then throws himself into a powerful blizzard that covers the entire battlefield.
- Tips: This move has a long stamina time to give you time to run behind the icy rocks. The direction of the blizzard coincides with the direction Articuno is in, so run behind the rocks against the headwind. Act accordingly.
- Ice Beam: Articuno charges and launches an ice ray from left to right. The hitzone is tapered, but only the ray has a hitbox.
- Tips: Dodge this move by being behind Articuno when he charges. This is the safest area.
- Powder Snow: Articuno charges quickly and scatters ice powder in front of him.
- Tips: Always stay behind Articuno, as his movements are directed forward! Also, you can avoid this movement by staying behind Articuno.
- Freeze-Dry: Articuno charges cold air inside his body, then unleashes a huge attack that throws opponents back!
- Tips: Run away when you see Articuno charging. He’s pretty fast, so a quick and effective reaction is required.
Regigigas
- Slow start: Like the main Pokemon games, Boss Rush seems to have a slow start – he starts out very slow and then builds up his speed as the battle progresses.
- Tips: Players should be careful when he growls and glows red, it means he has overcome that obstacle and is ready to pounce on you! At this time, it’s best to use whatever snarl movement your pokémon has to keep its distance from Reggas. Otherwise, you can use the eject button or X Speed to retreat.
- Crush Grip: Regigas grabs a pokémon and continuously crushes it.
- Tips: The remaining team will be able to break Reggie’s grip if he does enough damage. If he is available, this is a good time to use Unite Move to deal lots of damage to save your friends.
- Shockwave.: Reggas chooses three (3) allied Pokémon and generates an electric field around them. A Pokémon caught in the electric field will permanently take damage. It also deals damage to any ally you may approach.
- Tips: Once you become a target, make sure you clean up and don’t stick to your teammates before the move takes effect. If they are using ranged pokémon, you can still take a stance and strike. Otherwise, if they are using melee pokémon such as Garchomp, Mamoswine, etc., it is best not to engage.
- Rock Tomb: Regigas summons boulders and crushes Pokémon. He then unleashes a snowstorm that damages all pokémon that are not in cover.
- Tips: When you see red circles under your pokémon, stop attacking and dodge the rocks that will fall. This is the best time to use any techniques your pokémon has.
- Rock Tomb + Ice Wind: Regigas summons boulders and crushes Pokémon. He then unleashes a snowstorm that damages all pokémon that are not in cover.
- Tips: When the tall stones land, players should move quickly toward them. Then they should look where Reggas is facing, as this is the direction the snowstorm will go. Accordingly, they must quickly hide behind these boulders.
Best Pokémon to Play in Boss Rush Mode
1. blissy
The Pokémon Healer should be a priority in the Boss Rush squad. These battles are all about how quickly you defeat the bosses, and the more time you spend on the field rather than getting knocked out, the faster you’ll finish the game. Other supporters, such as Hoopa и Eldegoss may also help for this purpose.
2. decidueye
The long-range attacker is the best type suited for these battles. Deal damage from a distance, and there is no better pokémon for dealing damage from a distance than Decidueye. However, remember that crowd control techniques don’t work well on bosses. Therefore, Leaf Storm would be a poor choice as a move. In addition, other ranged attacks such as Cinderella, и Greninja may also help for the same purpose.
3. the Absolute
A speedster with a lot of physical damage can be effective against bosses. In addition, their movement set allows them to maneuver quickly around the area to dodge boss moves while dealing a lot of damage. Dodging boss attacks would be easier with a pokémon like Absol.
4. Lucario
Lucario also has an advantage in dodging receptions. In addition, decent stamina and burst damage can be crucial. If you need help on how to play these pokémon, you can refer to our guides on them.
