When someone calls a certain game project and adds the word “long-building” to it, such comrades should always be pointed out that such statements are unacceptable, because the real long-suffering long-building in the modern game industry is the zombie actioner Dead Island 2. The project was announced in the summer of 2014, and since then appears in the news feeds only in the format of reminders about its existence.

In eight years, Dead Island 2 has changed a huge number of release dates, developers, and executives, but for all that, it retains signs of life; at least, that’s what they’re trying to convince us of. Apparently, Deep Silver, along with Dambuster Studios, which is responsible for the game’s production, are indeed actively working on the long-awaited sequel: today a reputable insider Tom Henderson, citing his sources reportedthat the re-announcement of Dead Island 2 will take place at the end of the year.

According to Henderson, his source said that the event will likely take place in December during The Game Awards 2022 event. No details of Dead Island 2 have been shared with Henderson yet; all that is known so far is that there will be a big focus on cooperative playthrough mode.
