Skill Analysis
Cecilion is one of the heroes with five skills: one passive, three actives, and one special skill when Carmilla is in the same team. In this Cecilion guide, let’s see what are his abilities in Mobile Legends, and when you can use which skill to get the best out of him.
Passive – Overflowing(Buff)
Cecilion increases his Max Mana by 10 and restores the same amount of Mana his skill hits an enemy target. Cooldown: 1 second.
Cecilion has higher Max Mana and Mana Regen, and his skill damage scales with his Max Mana.
Skill 1 – Bat Impact(AoE, Bat Impact)
Cecilion orders a giant bat to dive in a designated direction, dealing 100–250 (+80% Total Magic Power) (+5% Total Mana) Magic Damage to enemies on the path. The giant bat will stay at its destination and launch another attack, dealing 200–500 (+160% Total Magic Power) (+10% Total Mana) Magic Damage to enemies and triggering Overflowing Overflowing an extra 1 time.
In 6 seconds, every time Cecilion casts this skill, the mana cost will be increased by 1.8 time(s) (capped at 4 times). While casting this skill, he also gains 30% Movement Speed for 1 second.
Skill 2 – Sanguine Claws(CC, AoE)
Cecilion summons a pair of claws in a designated location. After a short delay, the claws will move toward each other and pull enemies along the way to the centre, dealing 200–300 (+45% Total Magic Power) (+1.2% Total Mana) Magic Damage and immobilizing them for 1 second.
Skill 3 – Bats Feast(Burst , Speed Up)
Cecilion unleashes Blood Demon power [for 6 seconds], increasing his Movement Speed by 60% (decaying rapidly over 1.5 seconds) and gaining immunity to slow effects. Meanwhile, he shoots 40 bolts of blood energy at the enemies nearby, each dealing 35–45 (+8% Total Magic Power) (+0.3% Total Mana) Magic Damage and slowing them by 3% (up to 30%) for 1 second.
Hitting an enemy heals him for 10 and 1% of his lost HP.
Skill 4 – Moonlit Waltz (Shield, Slow)
When Carmilla Carmilla is nearby, Cecilion can call her into a Vermeil Shadow Vermil Shadow possessed by him [for 5 seconds], providing 220–500 shield (scales with Carmilla’s level).
Carmilla can select a target place and land on there, gaining equal shield, dealing 220–500 Magic Damage (scales with her level) within the area of effect, and slowing them down by 30% for 1 second.
Best Emblem set and Spells for Cecilion in Mobile Legends
Emblem Setup
Cecilion is one of the most high-damage dealer mage in the late game. His damage output is insane when he reaches 150 stacks. But Cecilion is one of the weakest mage in the early game. So to make Cecilion’s gameplay effective in the Mid-lane, players are expected to use the Custom Mage Emblem for Magic Power, Magic penetration & CD Reduction. With this Custom Mage Emblem, players can use whichever Talents best suits their gameplay. However, developers have brought up some of the best Emblem/Talent Set-up that is advisable to be used for Cecilion.
The Custom Mage Emblem ever since its Revamp, provides players with access to 3 different talents. Hence, for Cecilion the following setup is expected for players:
- In the First-tier Talent, we choose Agility as it provides movement speed, primarily used in early games for fast rotation/gank to other lanes from mid-lane. Rotation to the other lanes in the early game will help Cecilion gain stack quickly.
- In the Second-tier Talent, we choose Weapon Master. This talent will increase His magic power gained from equipment, emblem, talent & skill by 5%. It will help Cecilion to gain for damage in the early game.
- In the Third-tier Talent, we choose the Impure Rage for Cecilion. It will give him extra magic damage if he uses his skills to give damage. Adaptive Damage also scales with level.
Battle Spells
Cecilion is squishy and lacks mobility in the game. Therefore, Flicker is good as an escape mechanism for him, especially when to escape through walls. Use his first skill and ultimate when escaping through a clear road, and use Flicker through walls.
Other than that, Cecilion is quite squishy so he’s as good as dead when he gets crowd-controlled. Having Purify as a spell enables him to use his ultimate in some situations and save him from getting killed (since his ultimate heals too).
Best Builds for Cecilion in Mobile Legends
Cecilion is one of the best damage-dealing mage in the late game. Once he is stacked up to 150 or more with full build he can give one-shot damage to the enemies. We have created the template in our guide to try out Cecilion on the Mobile Legends Battlefield.
You can start building the Mana Boots for early mana regen. You won’t run out of mana in the early game. For the second item, you can get Clock of Destiny, it will give Cecilion Magic power & Mana. For the third item, you can have the Lightning Truncheon, it will also give Cecilion magic power & CD reduction. For the fourth item, you can have the Dominance Ice, it will help to reduce lifesteal & health regen. For the fifth item, you can have the Divine Glaive for penetration. For the last item, you can build Immortality to have a second chance of surviving, or you can build the Winter Truncheon to keep yourself safe from assassins.
Mobile Legends Cecilion Gameplay Tips
Cecilcion is one of the best heroes for making a comeback with a good farm in the late game and defending the base with high stacks of his first skill. But it is important to play him very safe in the early game to farm efficiently. However, a player must need a good understanding of the map to bring the best out of any hero. According to his gameplay, we can break it down into three phases. Our Mobile Legends Cecilion guide includes the perfect game plan for the early, mid, and late gameplay of Cecilion.
Early game
Skill 1 + Basic Attack + Skill 2 + Skill 1+ Skill 1
Cecilion isn’t really strong in the early game, but not weak either. Harass enemies with his first skill and collect stacks as much as you can. However, take note to not cast his first skill more than three times before waiting for the cooldown to not run out of mana fast. Use the ultimate to help the jungler take the turtle.
Mid game
Cecilion can start getting involved in team fights from the start but it’s safer to be more cautious until mid-game. After you get two core items after boots, he will be dealing with lots of damage. Be at the back of the fight and make sure nobody comes for you at the back. Cecilion is squishy so keep an eye out for enemies that deal burst damage and CC.
Late game
Skill 1 + Skill 2 + Skill 1+ ULT + Skill 1 + Skill 2 + Skill 1
The late game is the part where Cecilion shines the most. With all his items, he will be the number one target in team fights due to his scary damage. One shot of Bat Impact can deal with more than half the HP of enemies without magic defence. It’s crucial to be alive so Immortality is a recommended item in the late game.
Generally, Cecilion counters low mobility and squishy heroes. As long as you can keep a distance from the enemies, you can kill them. On the other hand, heroes that can charge to Cecilion and deal with high damage can kill Cecilion easily. He’s also weak against high mobility heroes and when he got CC-ed.
Heroes Cecilion can counter | Heroes that can counter Cecilion |
Layla | Lancelot |
Aurora | Harith |
Irithel | Hayabusa |
Valir | Khufra |
Fredrinn | Helcurt |
Final Thoughts
Used to be overpowered and permanently banned in ranked games, Cecilion was nerfed badly but still performs if he doesn’t die a lot early game. Keep priorities right with your teammates on the blue buff, never be greedy, and keep collecting stacks. The best bet is to stay behind teammates to avoid getting killed first in team fights to consistently gives large output damage during team fights.
