Genshin Impact Version 4.0 update has brought a new set of enemies for both Floor 12 in the Spiral Abyss. Since these are the topmost floors of the Abyss, ensure that you have units that are at least sufficiently built for the teams they are in. In this guide, we will explain the new changes in the current Spiral Abyss, how to clear them in the current Genshin Impact 4.0 patch update, and the most optimal teams that can be used.

Ley Line Disorder: For this floor only, the Let Line flow will be normal.

First Half

  • There is only one wave here and it’s a single Maguu Kenki. When you start the challenge, it takes around 10 seconds for Maguu Kenki to stand up and within those seconds, it won’t be taking any damage. So, don’t waste your Skill and Burst at this moment. But if you use your Skill during its standing-up animation, you can generate particles although the Maguu Kenki won’t take any damage.
  • Instead, make sure to dash and use i-frame as soon as Maguu Kenki uses its attack combos or use your Elemental Burst as another form to i-frame/avoid this attack. In addition, try not to attack from far away outside of its melee range because it will trigger Maguu’s parry mask and block your attacks.

Second Half

  • In the first wave, 2 Water-Spouting Phantasm will spawn at the back area while 2 Water-Splitting Phantasm spawn at the front area. All of their attack have a huge AoE and high damage. Remember that these Phantasms are immune to Hydro DMG, as they are afflicted with Hydro all the time, so you can trigger elemental reactions easily, but they can’t be Frozen when in an enraged state). They can also be gathered using an Anemo CC character.
  • When starting the challenge, all the Hydro Phantasm will not move from their location. But after a few seconds, they will enter an Enraged state and will start to chase after you. Start by focusing on the 2 Water-Spouting Phantasm at the back. Once they enter the Enraged state, their attacks have a really huge AoE so it’s better to get rid of them first. Use an AoE DPS to defeat all of them.
  • In the second wave, all 3 enemies spawn far from each other. Unfortunately, both Suppression Specialist Mek (Pneuma) and the Fatui Cryo Cicin do not chase your character. That’s why when the second wave spawns, you focus on one of them and let the Construction Specialist Mek (Pneuma) come after you.

First Half

  • In the first half, right after you start the challenge and approach the Emperor, make sure to dash when it starts moving because it will use ambush and strike the ground in front with its claw, dealing Physical DMG. After that, focus on using Hydro attacks (Electro is the second best element) to destroy the Pyro shield on top of its horn.
  • That Pyro shield grants it a 60% RES increase to all DMG and enables it to use stronger attacks. When the Pyro shield is destroyed, the Emperor of Fire and Iron will become paralyzed for a period of time.
  • Pay attention to a deadly attack called Searing Coronation where the Emperor will move to the center of the arena and half-buries itself to charge a massive explosion. If its Pyro shield is almost gone, focus on destroying the shield completely to cancel this attack. But if the shield is not destroyed in time, get away from the AoE circle to avoid being caught up in the explosion.

Second Half

  • In the first wave, the enemies spawn almost near each other in the middle of the arena. Prioritize the Loremaster in the middle as the other 2 Daythunders will 100% chase after you. The Loremaster will immediately summon its spirit animal scorpion, so that’s the first enemy you need to defeat.
  • In the second wave, 2 Breacher Primus will spawn near each other at the back area of the arena. These two are a threat only when they enter their stressed state. For the Overgrown Breacher, its stressed state will make it create a Dendro shield and fire waves of Dendro DMG missiles. The shield can be broken using Elemental Reactions (weakest to Electro) or a single Arkhe attack. Once the shield is broken, the Breacher Primus will become paralyzed for a long period of time.
  • For the Shattersone Breacher, its stressed state will make it create a Geo shield and deal Geo DMG repeatedly by smashing down on the ground. The shield is weakest to Blunt Attacks (Claymore attacks/Plunging attacks/Geo DMG) or a single Arkhe attack.

Chamber 3

First Half

  • In the first wave, you need to bring an Anemo CC, to gather the enemies together. If not, go target the Pyroslinger first and defeat him. Once the first Pyroslinger is defeated, do the same to the remaining Pyroslinger.
  • In the second wave, one Mek will spawn at the front while another one will spawn at the back. You should focus on the Suppression Specialist Mek (Ousia) at the front.
  • For the Annihilation Mek, if you keep being Frozen by the combination of Annihilation’s Hydro and Alert’s Cryo, you can focus on defeating the small thing first. Remember that if you defeat the Annihilation Mek, the Area Alert will also be automatically

Second Half

  • There is only one wave here and it’s the new boss ‘Icewind Suite’. The one you will be facing is Coppelius, the male counterpart who deals with Anemo DMG. Coppelius is a Pneuma-type and can be paralyzed by Ousia characters.
  • All of its attacks are a combination of Anemo and Cryo DMG, and you should be able to avoid them like usual in the open world or tank them with a shield.
  • During the Climax, Coppelius will gain a Cryo shield. The shield can be damaged normally using Elemental Reactions (weakest to Pyro), but will also immediately break upon being hit by an Ousia attack. Hitting Coppelius with 3 Ousia attacks during a single Climax will interrupt the Climax and stun them for a short period of time.

Optimal Team Comps to use on Floor 12 in Genshin Impact 4.0 Update Spiral Abyss

Although you need to start from Chamber 1, at least you don’t have to worry about stars for the Chamber you already completed. This means that you can change teams and start over. In the First Half, make sure to bring at least one Hydro character because of the Emperor of Fire and Iron in Chamber 2. It has a very strong Pyro shield and the best element would be Hydro with Electro as the second best. Anemo character + VV set is also highly recommended here to Swirl Hydro for Emperor.

In the Second Halfbring at least one Pyro character because of the Coppelius boss in Chamber 3. He can create a Cryo shield during its Climax, which you can destroy (easily) with either Pyro attacks or an Ousia character attack.
