The mythical creature Centaurs, known as Hylos, who is popularly viewed as half man and half horse, is one of the most used and best Tanks of Mobile Legends. Hylos is also known as Grand Warden, as he acts as the protector of the fairy forest and the fountain of immortality. As its story depicts, Hylos is good at defending its allies on the battlefield with lots of skill effects. Hylos is actually very easy to use with a good set of stun effects, area effect skills, healing skills, and movement buff skills. Recently he got some skill changes to make him more popular like other meta tanks and supports. Here’s our guide to help you in getting the best out of Hylos in Mobile Legends.
Abilities
Hylos possesses 4 skills, including his passive. In our Hylos guide, let’s see what are his abilities in Mobile Legends and when you can use which skill to get the best out of him.
Passive – Thickened Blood
Hylos gains 1.5 extra Max HP for every 1 extra Max Mana he possesses.
When out of Mana, Hylos can use his HP for skill casts.
Skill 1 – Law and Order (CC, Damage)
Hylos gains 50% Movement Speed and causes his next Basic Attack within 3 seconds to deal 300–550 (+80% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage to the target, knock them and stun them for 1 second.
This damage counts as Skill Damage.
The extra Movement Speed rapidly decays over the duration and ends after the next Basic Attack.
Skill 2 – Ring of Punishment (AoE)
Hylos releases the Ring of Punishment, dealing 100–300 (+20% Total Magic Power) Magic Damage to nearby enemies per second while slowing them by 4%–6% and reducing their Attack Speed by 7.5%–15% for 2.5 seconds (up to 8 stacks). Each stack also increases the enemy’s damage taken from the Ring of Punishment by 5–20%. The Ring of Punishment consumes 30–150 Mana per second when it’s active.
Use Again; Hylos cancels the Ring of Punishment.
Ultimate Skill – Glorious Path (Speed Up, Heal)
Hylos creates a huge pathway in the target direction, reducing enemies’ Movement by 75% for 1 second. The pathway lasts 6 seconds. When on the pathway, Hylos gains Slow Immunity and recovers 3% of his Max HP} per second. Allied heroes moving along the pathway gain 60% extra Movement Speed, while enemy heroes on the pathway will be slowed by 25%.
Best Emblem Set and Spells for Hylos in Mobile Legends
Emblem Set
The revamped emblem system in Mobile Legends gives players a lot of flexibility in how they customize their emblems. There are no longer any restrictions on which talents you can use, which means you can mix and match talents from different emblems to create a setup that perfectly suits your playstyle.
To effectively play Hylos as the Romer or Tank, players are expected to use the Custom Tank Emblem alongside whichever Talent best suits such player’s gameplay. However, we’ve brought up some of the best Emblem/Talent Set-up that is advisable to be used for Hylos.
- In the First Talent, we choose Agility. It provides +4% extra movement speed. Which is very good for Hylos in the early game.
- In the Second Tier Talent, players can pick Wilderness Blessing. This talent provides extra movement speed in the Jungle and River area. As a tank, this can be very helpful to roam faster from lane to lane or rotate the whole map easily.
- In the Third Tier Talent, players can pick Concussive Blast. It deals 125(+7% total HP) magic damage to nearby enemy heroes after the next basic attack. This suits Hylos’s gameplay as he tends to stay closer to their enemies to deal damage and tank damage.
Best Spells
Revitalize is the best spell used with Hylos. It generates a pool of healing springs, regenerating the HP of Hylos and its allies who are near him.
You can also use Vengeance. It allows him to tank more damage as a tank and it also reflects some of its taken damage to the damage dealer. It is very good in countering the high-damage marksmen.
Best Build for Hylos in Mobile Legends
Mobile Legends Hylos is a great tank and support hero. The following build takes advantage of his strength, focusing on durability and tankiness. In this guide, we have made a breakdown of the Hylos build in Mobile Legends.
- Warrior Boots/Tough Boots: Both of these are good choices. Warrior Boots provide extra physical defence and movement speed, while Tough Boots offer crowd control reduction. Choose based on the enemy team composition and whether you need more mobility or crowd control resistance.
- Dominance Ice: A solid choice. It provides armour and mana, which Hylos needs for his abilities. The passive slow effect also helps control enemy movement and reduce their attack speed.
- Antique Cuirass: This item provides additional armor and HP, making Hylos even tankier. The passive aura helps reduce the enemy’s physical attack, benefiting your team.
- Blade Armor: Blade Armor is a defensive item that reflects a percentage of the physical damage taken back to the attacker. This can be particularly effective against enemies who rely on basic attacks for damage output, such as marksmen or fighters. It provides additional armour, which further increases your tankiness.
- Brute Force Breastplate: A good choice for extra physical defence and some movement speed. The passive allows Hylos to increase his attack and movement speed with each basic attack, which can be useful for better crowd control and mobility.
- Oracle: Oracle is a fantastic item for tanks like Hylos. It provides magic resistance, HP, and HP regen, and its unique passive enhances healing effects on you, making you even more difficult to kill. This item can boost your sustain in fights.
- Radiant Armor is a good item for Hylos if the enemy team has a lot of magic damage dealers. It provides a significant boost to magic defence, as well as a passive that reduces magic damage taken for 3 seconds, after taking magic damage. This passive can stack up to 6 times, making Hylos extremely tanky against continuous or poke magic damage.
- Immortality: This item is a must-have for Hylos. It provides an extra layer of protection, reviving you after death. This can be a game-changer in crucial team fights.
Overall, the build emphasizes Hylos’ tankiness, crowd control, and utility. Just remember to adjust your build according to the enemy team composition and the game’s progression. If the enemy team has a lot of magic damage, consider adding more magic resistance items like Athena’s Shield or Immortality.
Mobile Legends Hylos Gameplay Tips
Hylos, the Undying, is a formidable tank hero in Mobile Legends, known for his incredible durability and crowd control abilities. Understanding how to harness his potential throughout the match, from the early game to the late game, is crucial for victory. However, a player must need a good understanding of the map to bring the best out of any hero. According to her gameplay, we can break it down into three phases. Our Mobile Legends guide includes the perfect game plan for early, mid, and late gameplay of Hylos.
Early Game
In the early game, Hylos is best played as a support for the marksman. He can also be played as a mid-lane tank. His first skill, Ring of Punishment, deals damage to nearby enemies and slows them down. This skill can be used to harass enemies and protect allies. Hylos is very strong from the early game. Don’t be afraid to play aggressive. You can invade enemy jungle easily and slow down jungler’s farm
Skill 1 + Basic Attack + Skill 2
Mid Game
As the game progresses, Hylos transitions into a crowd control master. By now, you should have “Oracle” and “Tough Boots” to enhance your durability and cooldown reduction. With “Law and Order” maxed, your ability to initiate team fights becomes exceptional. Dive into battles, use your ultimate “Glorious Pathway” to stun enemies, and follow up with “Ring of Punishment” for consistent area damage and crowd control. Be the frontline presence your team needs, ensuring they can follow up and secure kills.
Skill 1 + ULT+ Skill 2 + Skill 1
Hylos can pair up with anyone, may it be a marksman or a mage or a fighter, but it is important for a damage dealer to be with Hylos, as he will give the opportunity to take the opponent completely. Hylos can not only be helpful for ganking but also help in escaping from team fights when HP is low. The ultimate skill when directed towards the base can help Hylos and its allies to move faster towards the base while opponents will have a hard time moving.
Late Game
In the late game, Hylos evolves into an unstoppable tank, soaking up damage and providing vital control. Equipped with “Cursed Helmet,” “Blade Armor,” and “Athena’s Shield,” Hylos becomes virtually unkillable. Your role is to initiate fights, disrupt the enemy backline, and peel for your carries. “Glorious Pathway” is a game-changer in late-game team fights, as it can catch out-of-position enemies or disengage when needed. Coordinate with your team to secure objectives and push for victory.
Skill 1 + ULT+ Skill 2 + Skill 1+ Basic Attack
However, Hylos needs to be stronger against magic damage dealers. It’s a good idea to use more magic defense items against high burst magic damage and burn damage heroes who can poke from far away.
