Starfield: How to Find The Last Priest

Advertisements

Of all the powerful weapons in Starfield, none cut as deep as The Last Priest. The rare variation of the Va’Ruun Painblade is, as of yet, the best melee weapon that has been found in the game. That means the sooner you track it down, the quicker you’ll be able to holster your sidearm and carve through your enemies at close range.

The Last Priest is one of the best weapons in Starfield, but it can be a bit of a hassle to track down. Before adding it to your weapons inventory, you’ll have to progress through the Constellation’s main questline and weigh the cost of one space traveler’s life in your own hands.

Where to Find The Last Priest

You can receive The Last Priest as a reward if you convince the Hunter that the Keeper is dead during the Infinity’s End side quest. It is important to note that Infinity’s End is only unlocked after siding with the Hunter during Unearthed, a mainline quest for The Constellation. There are exactly two unique ways to convince the Hunter that Keeper Aquilas is dead, and either will reward players by adding The Last Priest to their inventory.

Completing The Unearthed Quest & Unlocking The Infinity’s End Side Quest

The Unearthed mainline quest is the 14th quest that you will take on as a member of the Constellation. This mission will lead you to Earth’s moon, Luna, and ask you to explore the Nova Galactic Research Station. The goal is to find a way into NASA and collect information on a prototype grav drive. This prototype is connected to the mysterious artifacts that you have been looking for.

Once you find the artifact and escape NASA unscathed, you’ll be approached by a mysterious Emissary and Hunter. If you choose to side with the Emissary you’ll be able to loot Eternity’s Gate, a legendary beam rifle off of the Hunter. If you choose to side with The Hunter, you’ll get access to the Infinity’s End side Quest and be able to loot Unmitigated Violence, a legendary laser rifle off of the Emissary. You could also choose to kill both the Emissary and the Hunter, which would be the best choice for anyone that didn’t choose a melee build.

Choosing Between The Keeper & The Hunter

After being forced to choose between the Emissary and The Hunter, you’ll be given a second moral dilemma when The Hunter reveals their identity and asks you to kill The Keeper. Due to a distortion of time and space, The Hunter Aquilus needs you to kill his doppelganger in New Atlantis.

There are two unique ways to deal with Aquilus’ doppelganger. The easiest way is to kill Keeper Aquilus on New Atlantis and report his death back to The Hunter. The second, perhaps more morally justifiable option, is to convince Keeper Aquilus to run away by passing a persuasion check. After this, you’ll have to convince the Hunter that Keeper Aquilus is dead through a second persuasion check. Both options will reward players with The Last Priest. If you choose the latter, make sure you save before attempting each persuasion check.

Once Hunter Aquilus is convinced that his doppelganger is dead, he will reward you with The Last Priest. This powerful melee weapon has a base damage of 85 and can be sold for a little over 20,000 credits. It also has a rare effect that allows it to randomly inflict elemental damage to those it strikes, making it even more viable against foes that it isn’t capable of killing in one shot.
