Some of the best weapons and armor sets in Lords of the Fallen are in the hands of the bosses that players defeat. Instead of leaving players to stew in gear envy, the developers have seen fit to allow them to buy these boss weapons and armor sets for a fixed price after the defeat of the boss in question.
To do so, players will need to find Remembrances, permanent items found in the boss fight arena they took down the boss in. Typically, Remembrances are obtained by interacting with the Umbral Stigma that spawns on the battlefield after you defeat the boss.
How To Buy Boss Weapons And Armor
Here is a step-by-step guide on how to get Boss weapons, armor sets, and spells.
- Defeat the boss.
- Interact with the Umbral Echo (Stigma) that appears on the battlefield after the fight. You will gain two Umbral Scouring and the boss’s Remembrance.
- Use the nearest Vestige to fast travel back to Skyrest Bridge. The fastest way back is to use a Vestige Seedling on the Umbral flowerbed that appears in the middle of the arena.
- At Skyrest, enter the Umbral Realm and talk to Molhu, the vendor only visible in Umbral.
- Select the option “Offer Remembrance“.
- Choose the Remembrance of the boss you want to get the items from.
- Select the item you want and click on it. The item will be added to your inventory if you have enough Umbral Scouring to buy it from the vendor.
Not all bosses offer a full set of armor or even a weapon. Some only offer a spell and a ring, while others offer a complete armor set with a weapon but no spells. The items you can buy using each boss’ Remembrance are fixed and cannot be changed. Be mindful of what you buy as Umbral Scouring—the currency needed to buy these items—is incredibly hard to come by.
How To Get Umbral Scouring
There are multiple ways to farm Umbral Scouring.
- Umbral Echoes (Stigmas): Interact with these echoes of the past by using the Soulflay ability on them. You can only interact with these entities in the Umbral Realm.
- Unique Umbral Enemies: Defeating elite Umbral entities has a chance of dropping Umbral Scrouring.
- Boss Fights: All bosses drop a certain amount of Umbral Scouring when defeated.
- Red Reaper: The Red Reaper is the Umbral enemy that appears after the Umbral Eye has filled up completely and turns red. Defeating this monster gives 5 Umbral Scrouring.
