After the instant smash hit that was Marvel’s Spider-Man by Insomniac Games, a large DLC was released, this time focused on the popular Miles Morales as he comes into his own as a new Spider-Man. Naturally, the game was a massive success, and just like in Peter’s game, players could fit Miles in a wide selection of suits. With the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, both Peter and Miles are now playable, which means double the suits and double the style.
Just like with Peter, many suits make a return from the first game, while many brand-new ones are added to keep things fresh. Miles has a distinct fashion sense much different from Peter’s, thanks to his cultural background and personality. Among Mile’s vast and stylish wardrobe, these are the best options to look immaculate while fighting bad guys.
10 S.T.R.I.K.E.
This is an outfit straight out of some Shonen anime. This suit dresses Miles in some badass superhero gear, albeit just a bit over the top. The sharp lines and edges give Miles a unique look, the two tones of black help it look less plain, and the careful placements of red and yellow bring bright highlights that make it stand out. The massive gauntlets feel distinct, like an aesthetic worthy of a classic anime. The sharper eyes give it a meaner look, showing a more down-to-business Spidey. While a bit unusual, it’s a refreshing take on his design.
9 Boricua
Something casual fans may often forget about Miles is that he’s of Puerto Rican descent from his mother, Rio Morales. So it’s awesome to see Insomniac Games represent that in one of his suits. The Boricua suit sports the Puerto Rico flag on its chest, like wearing his heritage with pride.
The best thing about it is that the colors match with Miles’ already established color scheme, which keeps the change from feeling tacked on. Miles may not be as in touch with his Latino roots as he should be, but this suit is sure to make his mother happy.
8 Crimson Cowl
Similar to Peter’s Scarlet III suit, Miles’ Crimson Cowl inverts the placement of Miles’ colors and gives him a sleek hood that fits him perfectly. The two shades of red help with the balance of colors, and the smart placements of black guide the eyes through the design. The long, vertical spider logo framed between the black lines at the sides just looks fantastic. And the unchanged mask beneath the hood makes sure the suit isn’t completely different, so it still has a sense of familiarity. Seems like Miles just understands fashion better between the two spiders.
7 Dark Ages
So that’s what Miles would like if he bonded with a symbiote. The Dark Ages suit looks into what would happen if the younger spider went into the alien costume business. The massive collar makes it distinct from Peter’s black suit, and the deep blood-red breaks up the glossy black that overpowers the attire. All in all, it gives Miles a much more sinister and dangerous look that feels out of character for such a hero like him, and that’s of course the point of the Spiders’ symbiote suit. It still doesn’t beat Peter’s iconic suit, though.
6 Brooklyn 2099
Arachnid defender from the future, Miles is ready for combat, with a more advanced suit and tech than ever. This is an outfit designed for relentless crime fighting. The slim, body-fit black armor with red neon trims and spider logo contrasts with the combat pants.
The smaller, meaner glowing red eyes befit this suit with such a menacing glare, the kind of look criminal would be terrified to see at night. An advanced fighter, invincible in his element, unstoppable, and the badass hero that Brooklyn in the far future needs.
5 The End
A spider at the end of the web, both the name and the design paint the picture of a Miles that has gone to hell and back, a Spider-Man that has one last mission. The big black and red jacket paired with the custom camo pants changes Spidey’s silhouette completely, making him seem like a completely different character at first glance. Miles’ original suit is seen beneath the jacket and hood, hinting at the core of the hero beneath the hardened exterior. This immediately feels like a more aggressive Spider-Man, perfect for those high-stakes combat sections.
4 Purple Reign
Seems like Miles chose to follow in his uncle’s footsteps. The Purple Reign suit fits Miles with a design very reminiscent of The Prowler, a character incredibly significant for the young crime-fighter. Seeing Miles in these colors may feel sour and yet, massively cool. The Prowler’s color scheme just fits him so well; it is tailor-made for him. Swinging through New York and fighting crime with this suit on it’s like taking a look into Earth-42, where Miles has become the new Prowler. Miles would make his Uncle Aaron proud with this cool suit.
3 Miles Morales 2099
Swinging into the far future with style, an alternate take on a 2099 Miles, this time with a feel closer to the original Miles and also reminiscent of Miguel O’Hara, the classic 2099 Spidey. The suit follows Miguel’s design with the skull-shaped spider logo and the talons on the forearms.
But it also incorporates Miles’ distinct style with the hood and running shoes. While the mask seems the same at first, changing the eye trims from red to black does just enough to make it look different from the classic look. Even in the future, Miles always dresses with style.
2 Evolved
While the Boricua suit highlights Miles’ Puerto Rican heritage, the Evolved suit shows his African-American fashion sense. With the sleek hoodie, the awesome sneakers, and his beautiful hair peeking out the top of the mask, Miles brings home the idea of a street-level hero with this fit. The bright fluorescent blue sprouting from the chest to the back of the hands attracts the eyes to the beautiful design. The sneakers can’t be left out, as they are relevant to Miles’ on-screen costume history. This is Miles at the most representative of his identity as a separate, African-American Spider-Man.
1 Across The Spider-Verse Suit
Now what’s up danger? We can’t talk about Miles Morales without mentioning how key the Spider-Verse films have been for him. Before them, most casual audiences didn’t know about him, and now, he’s a household name. The Across The Spider-Verse suit seen in the movie makes a huge impression in the game, modeled so well that it looks like playing the movie rather than a separate adaptation.
Never has a movie suit been so well adapted in a Spider-Man video game, and having it be such an important suit for the character in question, is just the Ultimate Spider-Man experience. You can’t stop him now.
