Spider-Man 2 is full of villains for Peter and Miles to face, all while Kraven also hunts them down to find a worthy opponent. Being the third game in this universe, there are still other established villains for both Peter and Miles out there.
Otto Octavius, or Doc Ock, was one of the major antagonists of the first Spider-Man game, who is absent throughout the main events of Spider-Man 2. Just because he’s not taking up his mantle again to face Spider-Man in this game doesn’t mean he’s done with Peter just yet.

Who Is Otto Octavius
Otto Octavius was a major character in the first game, starting out as the head scientist of the lab that Peter worked at. Otto develops mechanical arms that can be controlled through a neural interface that attaches to the base of a person’s skull, which Peter also realizes can drastically alter a person’s mood. Through setback after setback and bureaucratic red tape with Norman Osborn, Otto eventually snaps and uses his technology to become the villain Doc Ock.
Through the neural interfacing with the mechanical arms, Otto continues to spiral into madness, creating the Sinister Six by breaking out major villains from The Raft to attack all of Oscorp throughout the city. While Peter is able to stop the villains, Otto reveals he knows Peter is Spider-Man. Peter sees that Otto has completely lost himself and is willing to kill Peter to get revenge on Norman, and finally puts a stop to Otto and leaves him to be imprisoned in The Raft.
Otto Octavius In Spider-Man 2
While Otto doesn’t appear in the main story, he does have a brief cameo in the post-credits scene of Spider-Man 2. Norman comes to Otto in The Raft to uncover the true identity of Spider-Man, seemingly to get revenge for putting Harry in a coma. While it’s not clear what the future holds for these two, Otto is a very dangerous enemy for Peter as he knows his secret identity and can tell it to anyone, including Norman. Otto also shows no remorse for his actions and seems to be the same person seen at the end of the first game, driven mad by his inventions and their lasting impact on his mind and now possibly looking for revenge against Peter.
