Lots of games feature collectibles that will reward you when you collect enough of them. Sometimes these might give weapons, armor, or special abilities. This acts as a means for the game to reward players for enjoying all the elements it has to offer.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage has many collectibles for Basim to get his hands on such as Lost Books, Dervis’ Artifacts, and Historical Sites. One collection you will need to complete is Mysterious Shards, as these will open 3 of the Chests found in Wilderness.
Wilderness Gear Chest Locations
You will find many Gear Chests scattered all throughout the Wilderness region. These are the 6 chests you will be able to get without needing any Mysterious Shards.

Hidden One Sword |
Your first Gear Chest can be found in the Abandoned Carabanserai — which can be found near the end of the west side of the map. Travel west until you are in the middle of the dried-up fountain. Turn to look to your right and you will see a fire pot. Head past this fire pot and to your left will be a structure where you can slide. Slide it in front of the pile of wooden barrels and then go back to pick up this fire pot. Walk up to the top of this structure and then jump to the rope to the west of it. This will lead you to a platform that you can use to move through some broken railings. Opposite these broken railings will be some more broken railings you can use to jump past 2 wooden beams. The second wooden beam will have a rope leading to another wooden beam. Just past this beam will be another wooden beam on the same building for you to jump to. From this wooden beam, look east. You will see a door that has been blocked up with stones. Throw the fire pot at this blocked-up door. Inside this room will be the Gear Chest you seek. |

On your map you will see the Southern Camp. From the capital “S” head north to find a large building. Look along the northwest wall on the outside of this building to find the Gear Chest. |

Spymaster’s Camp will be the next destination. It will be north of the first “a.” You will walk along a tree that lets you hop to another tree branch. At the end of the first branch you walk on, use your Eagle Vision to highlight the Gear Chest. Jump to the second branch and onto the wooden platform it connects to. Then turn left to get to the Gear Chest. |

Open your map and look to Winter Palace, directly north of the dome of this building will be a tower by the water — the next Gear Chest can be found there. From the west side, you can kick the lever by a wheel to propel yourself up to the top of the wall. Turn left and run up to the gate on your left. Use Eagle Vision and you will see a latch you can destroy by throwing a knife. This will cause the heavy load to fall, followed by a loud crashing sound. Make your way back down and follow the wall away from the wheel you used. You will come to a large wooden stairway. Head up these stairs and keep following the wall until you pass through a door. Turn to face the left, and you will see a platform you can climb up. Turn right and you will see the Gear Chest. |

The first upgrade schematic for your dagger can be found at Dur-Kurigalzu. Climb to the very top of the landmass and stand at the end of the bricked path. You will see a hole in front of you. Perform a Leap of Faith and you will dive into this hole and land in some water. Swim to the southwest, and you will be able to climb out of the water. There will be a guard after you climb out, as well as 3 more guards further into the cave. You can take out the guard in the distance using the right tool just before passing through the door. Then either use some red powder to the left of the door to stun the remaining two, or perform a chain assassination on them as you pass through the door. Run to the end of the path and destroy the vases on the right, followed by sliding the stone wall to where these vases were. Pick up the fire pot in the room behind this wall and follow the wall on the left until you see a stoned-up door you can use the fire pot to blow open. Follow the path while watching the left until you see a hole in the wall — jump through this hole. Look past the ledge and there will be plenty of guards standing on a treasure pile. You will find the Gear Chest in the middle of this treasure pile. |

Look at your map to Water Mill — north of the “I” you will find a massive water wheel. While facing this wheel, turn right and go around the corner. Walk until you see some stone stairs on your left side. Jump over the ledge next to these stairs into the water. This is where you will get the key to the water mill. Go up to the stone stairs and then travel northwest. You will come to a chasm that you must hop down. Grab the shelves in this chasm and pull it toward you. In the room behind it, you will find the Gear Chest. |
Gear Chests From Collecting Mysterious Shards
In order to get your hands on the final 3 chests in this region, you will need to have collected all the game’s Mysterious Shards for the mission known as The Calling. Once you have all of these shards, you can head to the Northern Oasis and swim through the tunnel found at the bottom of the lake to an underground chamber with 3 Gear Chests.
