Starfield: How To Get The Wanderwell Ship

Advertisements

Ships play a massive part in any player’s Starfield experience, taking them to any of the thousand planets the galaxy has to offer. While the first ship is received for free, others will need to be either earned through completing side quests, found, stolen, or bought, with there being one other exception.

The Wanderwell is a unique ship in that it’s essentially brought to the player to be used instead of needing to be found. While this ship may not have incredible stats, an easy-to-get ship should always be taken advantage of.

How To Get The Wanderwell

Starfield - Traits Kid Stuff

Getting the Wanderwell starts at the beginning of the game when creating a character. Players will need to select the “Kid Stuff” trait that has their parents being alive and well but also sending 2% of the player’s credits at the end of every in-game week. While 2% of all credits each week may seem like a hassle that will add up, it’s only deducted from the player’s current credit count at the end of the week, letting players make big purchases before having to pay the 2%.

Along with paying the 2%, the player’s parents will be living in an apartment in New Atlantis. To get the ship, players must visit their parents often, ideally every time they visit New Atlantis, and talk to them. Players must also complete various quests, either main story quests or random side quests, with the quota being randomized by the game. Eventually, when visiting and talking to your father, he will exclaim that he won a ship in a poker game and give it to the player for free. The ship can then be equipped by any Ship Services Technician.

How To Find Your Parents

To find your parents in New Atlantis, either fast-travel or take the tram system over to the residential district of the city. From there, take a right from the tram and head to the large white tower called “Pioneer Tower.” Head inside and to the elevators directly inside to go to your parent’s apartment. It’s important when visiting to talk to both of them each time to try and trigger the free ship.

Wanderwell Stats

Starfield - Ships Wanderwell

The Wanderwell isn’t an incredible ship, but it is a very useful free Class A ship players can get early into the game. The ship has 20 energy bars to distribute between its systems, with a focus on its engines, lasers, and Grav drive. The ship can have two crew members and can jump a total of 27 lightyears. The cargo capacity is 800, along with a fuel capacity of 200, making it a better ship for exploration than many other Class A ships.
