Festival of the Lost is the Destiny 2 annual Halloween celebration event in which Guardians complete various activities and challenges to earn different cosmetic items and weapon rewards. Festival of the Lost 2023 features 4 Legendary weapons which players can earn. Out of these 4 weapons, one is completely brand-new while others have received a change to their perk pool.

These four weapons include the Horror Story Auto Rifle, Jurassic Green Pulse Rifle, Mechabre Sniper Rifle, and the brand-new Acosmic GSp Heavy Grenade Launcher. All these weapons come with their own exclusive Origin Trait Search Party which gives the player a faster aim down sights (ADS) speed and increases their movement during ADS when allies aren’t near.

4 Acosmic GSp

The Newest Event Weapon

Acosmic GSp, Destiny 2, Festival of the Lost, Best Weapons

Acosmic GSp is the latest Festival of the Lost weapon and is a Rapid-Fire Frame Heavy Grenade Launcher. Acosmic GSp has a Void affinity, meaning it has some perk combinations that make this weapon ideal for Void builds. Even though Heavy Grenade Launchers received a buff with the launch of Lightfall, they are still overshadowed by Rocket Launchers, Linear Fusion Rifles, and Machine Guns.

Acosmic GSp is a little underwhelming due to the lack of exciting perk combinations considering we already have Heavy Grenade Launchers like Regnant and Cataphract GL5, but it’s an okay addition to the overall weapon pool, for the aesthetics if nothing else. In the left column, Acosmic GSp can roll with Field Prep, Clown Cartridge, and Impulse Amplifier. In the right column, we have perk options like Destabilizing Rounds, Explosive Light, Cascade Point, and Repulsor Brace.

3 Horror Story

Most Interesting-To-Play Weapon

Horror Story, Destiny 2, Festival of the Lost, Best Weapons

Horror Story is the oldest Festival of the Lost weapon on the list, and it used to be a Kinetic weapon. However, this time around, Horror Story had its affinity changed to Stasis allowing it to have synergy with Stasis builds. Horror Story is a Precision Frame Auto Rifle and has some interesting perk combinations for both PvP and PvE that make it particularly fun to play. For PvE, in the left column, Horror Story can roll with perk options like Demolitionist and Enlightened Action while in the right column, it has access to perks like Frenzy, Adrenaline Junkie, and Headstone.

The perk combination of Demolitionist and Headstone is a must-have if you want a weapon for Stasis builds. For The Crucible, we have perks options like Dynamic Sway Reduction and Elemental Capacitor in the left column, and perks like Target Lock and Adrenaline Junkie in the right column. Horror Story also comes with a high zoom value of 18, making it more accurate. This time Horror Story also got access to the brand-new Origin Trait Nadir Focus which is superb in The Crucible.

2 Mechabre

Best Feeling Weapon

Mechabre, Destiny 2, Festival of the Lost, Best Weapons

Mechabre is an Aggressive Frame Sniper Rifle that has an Arc affinity. A Sniper Rifleā€™s usage in The Crucible depends greatly on how the weapon feels and Mechabre feels amazing thanks to its unique weapon design, scope, and sound effect. Mechabre also comes with a normal zoom value of 45 as well as some great perk combinations for both PvE and The Crucible. The Origin Trait also comes greatly in play for this weapon as Sniper Rifles always benefit from extra Handling.

For PvE, Sniper Rifles are not that popular but Mechabre has some great perk options. In the left column, it has access to Demolitionist, Clown Cartridge, and Triple Tap. Meanwhile, in the right column, it has perk options like Voltshot, Vorpal Weapon, and High-Impact Reserves. For The Crucible, Mechabre comes with the tried and true perk combination of Snapshot Sights and Opening Shot. It also has some other perks options like Keep Away, Discord, and High Ground.

1 Jurassic Green

The Most Unique Rifle

Jurassic Green, Destiny 2, Festival of the Lost, Best Weapons

Jurassic Green is the only Solar Rapid-Fire Pulse Rifle in the game making it a worth-have if you want a Solar weapon of this archetype whether it be for The Crucible or PvE. Jurassic Green unfortunately has lower base stats than the other commonly used Rapid-Fire Frame Pulses but the perk combinations that this weapon can get more than make up for it. It also got access to the Origin Trait Field Tested this time, which gives this weapon bonus stat points.

For PvE, Incandescent is a no-brainer as it is extremely potent for ad-clear and Solar build. If not Incandescent, you can also use Golden Tricorn or Frenzy in the right column. In the left column, you can use perk options like Keep Away, Loose Change, Perpetual Motion, and Subsistence. For The Crucible, in the left column, you have perk options like Keep Away, Killing Wind, and Perpetual Motion while in the right column, Headseeker, Encore, Multikill Clip, and Golden Tricorn are some great dueling options.
