After Initiation 4 – We Sing in Alan Wake 2, Alan will find himself back in the fake New York built by the Dark Presence to confuse him. The payphone will ring again, and Alan will pick up. A voice on the phone gives you a new lead to follow. Next stop: the Oceanview Hotel.
Unfortunately, the Hotel is not easily accessible. Entering from the front door creates a loop of the entryway that goes on forever, always resulting in you ending up right back at the entrance. The key is in the clue Alan hears from the voice on the payphone, finding an alternate way into the Oceanview Hotel. Here is how to do it.

How To Get Into The Oceanview Hotel
Just to the left of Oceanview Hotel, look up, and you’ll see a Skybridge connecting the Hotel to the building across the street. The only way to enter the Hotel is to use this Skybridge. The Skybridge is connected to the Hotel via the Mirror Peak Bar. Alan’s task is to find the bar first and then look for a way into the Hotel.
Here is a step-by-step rundown on the process of getting into the Hotel via the Skybridge.
- White facing the Oceanview Hotel’s front door, look left. You’ll see a red neon sign in the distance for Mirror Peak Bar just above an alley. This is where you need to go.
- Head towards the neon sign in the Alley and follow the arrow on the sign to turn left after reaching it.
- Turn right at the next junction, and you’ll see the Mirror Peak Bar door under a flickering streetlight in the distance.
- Follow this path, and you’ll trigger a cutscene with Alex Casey and Alan. Detective Casey ends up dead by Alan’s gun. This will start Initiation 5 – Room 665.
There is a Word of Power on the ceiling of the small room to the right.
- The streetlight above the door in the Alley can hold light. This is the same streetlight you likely used the Angel Lamp on the first time to unlock Caldera Subway Station. To progress, you have to take the light from the streelight away to show the door just underneath it.
- Enter the door and take the staircase.
- Take the ladder down, then go up the next staircase.
- Use the Angel Lamp on the light source to remove the light.
- Look right after taking the light to see scaffolding you can pass under. Go through it.
- Take the ladder up after getting through, and you’ll find yourself on a rooftop with three darkness nodes blocking the path ahead.
- Destroy the darkness nodes with your Flashlight, but be prepared for a fight. You will be attacked by multiple dark shadows. Use the Flare Gun for area-of-effect damage.
- After dealing with the enemies, enter the door that was blocked by the darkness, and you’ll find yourself on another rooftop.
- Go under the scaffolding again to find a Break Room on the other side.
Find the Word of Aid on the wooden board on the adjacent building by going to the opposite end of the rooftop from the Break Room and looking back.
- Sheriff Tim Breaker can be found by taking a detour to the left of the Break Room. To progress further up towards the Skybridge, take the ladder to the right of the Break Room and the next one on the second rooftop.
- Enter the door under the flickering light without activating the Angel Lamp.
- You’ll find yourself at a dead end with another light. Use your torch on the water tanker on the right to get another Word of Power, and then use the Angel Lamp to take away the light.
- Go back the way you just came in and give light to the flickering light above the door. This will change the corridor.
- Re-take the corridor, and you’ll appear on a different rooftop with a staircase going down. Take it.
- Turn left, and you’ll find yourself on the Oceanview Hotel rooftop.
Before entering the Oceanview Hotel proper, look at the opposite end of the rooftop to find the Mirror Peak bar. A shotgun is locked inside. Use your Angel Lamp to light up the interior and enter. Once inside, use it again to take away the light and pick up the Shotgun from the display case.
- The door leading to the inside of the Hotel is locked, requiring a four-digit code to open. The code can be gleaned from the Oceanview Cocktail pricing at the Mirror Peak bar Notice Board: 25.50.
Enter the code 2-5-5-0 to enter the Oceanview Hotel.
