As part of Starfield’s UC Vanguard questline, players are required to complete a simulated pilot exam. Many have, however, expressed how difficult it can be to defeat all six tiers of enemies during the exam.
Shortly after you begin the UC Vanguard questline, you will be prompted to enter a piloting simulation chamber. Your objective is to take down at least three tiers of enemy ships, with the maximum being six. However, one player has realized that there’s actually a handy trick you can do to make the exam easier.
Once you enter the simulation chamber, make your way to the pilot’s seat and sit down. Afterward, stand back up and make your way back to the door where you came in, you’ll notice a command console by the entrance. If you try to use the console before entering the pilot’s seat, you’ll be told to start the simulation first.
After you’ve returned to the console, you will now be able to upgrade your ship’s shield, damage output, and even generate an ally ship. However, the only downside is that these perks only last for one tier of enemies. If you want a more detailed explanation on how to do this handy trick, check out the video below.
Many users were quick to point out that the NPC informs you of this tactic before you go in if you ask him for tips beforehand. However, many others pointed out how easily this trick can be missed. “100 hrs into the game and didn’t know this, thanks for info op”, one user responded. Another also praised the discovery, saying, “This is so cool. Wild I didn’t see it before”.
With Starfield being such a massive title, it’s no surprise that there are so many tips and tricks being missed by players. Just last week, another player discovered a hidden piece of dialogue that only appears when the player is wearing a specific monster suit.
In our official review of Starfield, we called it an “unforgettable space epic” with an “unforgettable story that continues to surprise you every step of the way.”
