Unfortunately, your carnage is cut short by our old friend, Kraven The Hunter. Not to worry, Venom is more than ready to meet the challenge.
Kraven is back for his final hunt, and it’s time give him his wish of a good death. He has hunted the symbiot across multiple hosts, making a true enemy of the alien lifeform. Unleash the full power of the symbiote against him! While Kraven isn’t the easiest fight in the game, he is one of the shortest. Match his brutality with your own to come out on top!
Kraven Phase 1: Predator Or Prey
Kraven is a dangerous foe. He’s fast, he hits hard, and he can be relentless. His tactics are brutal, and this hard-hitting foe can end the fight in just a few hits. While this fight is going to be fast, it’s balanced by the brutality. Kraven is going to be using a spear and shield, thwarting your ability to make direct strikes that aren’t special attacks. Fortunately, he’s going to move in rather quickly with his spear. If you get into the pattern of parrying him, it will leave him open to a few strikes. This is the best way to deal consistent damage against Kraven. He does, however, have an arsenal of tricks and special attacks himself. Let’s get into what you can expect from this boss and how you can counter his attacks with your own.
Overhead Strike
Kraven is fond of using his spear to take a piece out of enemies. He’ll make small stabs to get in some quick strikes. You can block or parry these attacks, but they’re weak in comparison to his overhead strike. Kraven will leap into the air, and you’ll need to parry this attack. It can be difficult to get the timing right, but doing so is essential to your survival. If he manages to strike you with it, not only will it deal significant damage, you’ll also be left open for a string of even more attacks.
Camouflage
Kraven has the ability to disappear and dash away during the fight. He’s typically going to use this opportunity to get out of your line of sight. Be ready to parry and expect him to show up behind you with his spear. The best thing you can do is spin around and be ready to parry. If you completely lose track of him, he’ll get a surprise attack on you that can deal significant damage. Avoiding this attack could mean the differences between victory and defeat in this fight. Don’t get caught off guard.
Flashbang
Remember the flashbang he used against Peter in your previous fight with Kraven? Well, he’s back to his old tricks again. This flashbang will really mess with your vision. The screen will get bright for an instant, you’ll see double, things will be blurry, and your vision will eventually start to come into focus again. During this time, Kraven is on the move and setting up his next attack.
Rockets
After Kraven hits you with a flashbang, he uses your moment of weakness to climb on top of some scaffolding. From his new position, you’ll see him aim an attack at you. This is a rocket that he intends to use to obliterate you. Don’t let him. Time your parry so that you not only catch the rockets, but throw them back at him. Doing so will not only damage him, but also destroy the scaffolding he’s standing on. Use this moment of immobility to close the gap between you and Kraven.
Grenades
They can be difficult to spot, but Kraven will occasionally leave an explosive on the ground while he moves around. This might be during a dash or a roll. It’s meant to catch you off guard as you give chase. The great thing is that, if you catch it in time, you can use L1+R1 to pick up the explosive and throw it. This will eliminate the threat for you and can potentially damage Kraven in the process. No matter what, find a way to get away from these explosives.
Kraven Phase 2: The Final Hunt
The second phase of this fight is very similar to the first. You need to look out for Kraven’s spear, the ground explosives, and his camouflage. He still hits like a truck while remaining just as fast as before. Don’t mistake the lack of variation from last phase with an easy time during this phase. Make sure you’re ready to parry at a moment’s notice, and you should come out on top.
