The Talos Principle 2 is the successor to The Talos Principle. The game features many different mechanics throughout that the robot-like player character will need to make use of in order to progress. Having a large pool of options for players to explore can help some games go from being good puzzle games to some of the best puzzle games.
To solve Elevation, you will be moving around a Connector, a Hexahedron, and an RGB Converter. Despite the name being Elevation, the player character will not need any platform puzzle-solving tricks. However, this name does give away the trick in what players need to do in order to solve this puzzle.
Elevation – Opening The First Barrier
When you make your way to this puzzle area, you will immediately notice a Connector. Pick it up and turn to the left, at which point you will see a red laser. To the right of this red laser will be a blue barrier — which will be referred to as Barrier 1. To the right of Barrier 1 will be a path that leads to another blue barrier that will be referred to as Barrier 2. Head on over to Barrier 2, here you will find a red button on the ground in front of it. Place the connector on this button to open Barrier 2 and allow you to take the Hexahedron on the other side of it.
Move the Hexahedron towards Barrier 1, then take a few steps back so that you can see the red laser on the left, a green laser in front of you, and a blue sun on the right side — all visible on your screen. Take the Connector again and turn to face the opposite direction of Barrier 2. Follow the wall on your right, and you will pass by Barrier 1 and the red laser as you make your way to the corner of the wall — turn right at this corner. You will see a blue laser and to your right, a purple barrier with a blue sun at the far end. Use the Connector to connect the blue laser to this blue sun — this will open Barrier 1.
Elevation – Keeping Both Barriers Open
Walk through the purple barrier, pick up the RGB Converter, and walk forward to where you put the Hexahedron. Place the RGB Converter on top of the Hexahedron. This is where the puzzle gets its name since if players do not elevate the RGB Converter using the Hexahedron, the beams will cross into each other. Now, use the RGB Converter to select the red laser on the left, the green laser on the other side of the opened Barrier 1, and the blue sun that the Connector is connected to.
Go back and take the Connector, and bring it to Barrier 2. It is now safe to take the Hexahedron out from under the RGB Converter since there is no longer a laser that will intercept it. Place the Hexahedron on the button to open up Barrier 1. Connect the Connector to the RGB Converter and the blue sun in the room where the Hexahedron was initially. This will lower the barrier to the Progress Wheel.
