Marvel Snap’s ever-growing list of hero cards has found a newcomer in Ms. Marvel. The card was added on November 7 as the featured card for the game’s “Higher, Further, Faster” season. Ms. Marvel has large shoes to fill with the previous two season pass cards (Loki and Else Bloodstone) being meta-changing cards.
Ms. Marvel’s ability is a tough one to fit into a deck. There are many cards that benefit from her Ongoing effect. So many, in fact, that it adds a layer of difficulty when crafting the deck that can best utilize her. This guide will give you a couple of early decks to try out, highlight some counters to watch out for, and note some of the cards that have the best synergies with Ms. Marvel so you can craft decks of your own.

Best Ms. Marvel Decks
Ms. Marvel’s ability is “Ongoing: Adjacent locations where your cards have unique Costs have +5 Power.” This means that decks work best with Ms. Marvel when they contain cards of varying Cost values. While her ability can be a thorn in your side when making a deck from scratch, it is wide-ranging enough that Ms. Marvel can be a great addition to make deck archetypes. Highlighted below is an example of an Ongoing deck and a Darkhawk deck that utilize Ms. Marvel’s ability well.
Ongoing: Adjacent locations where your cards have unique Costs have +5 Power.
Ms. Marvel Ongiong Deck
This deck brings Ms. Marvel’s Ongoing ability to the forefront. The deck has a good spread of Cost-values, taking full advantage of Marvel’s effect. The strategy here is to play down as many Ongiong cards as possible and then follow up with Spectrum, or a Ms. Marvel/Onslaught combo in one lane, boosting your entire side’s Power. Nebula can be used to control a lane, forcing your opponent to play there, and giving you the chance to focus your Energy elsewhere.
Cards like Klaw and Mister Fantastic can be used to throw Power into adjacent lanes, giving you a huge boost if lower-Power cards are currently in place there. Cosmo can also be used to foil some of Ms. Marvel’s counters like Spider-Man, Enchantress, Rogue, ETC.
Deck Contents:
- Ms. Marvel
- Ant-Man
- Nebula
- Lizard
- Invisible Woman
- Cosmo
- Mister Fantastic
- Namor
- Professor X
- Klaw
- Onslaught
- Spectrum
Ms. Marvel Darkhawk Deck
This Ms. Marvel Darkhawk deck has a lot of versatility! Like the previous deck, there’s a good spread of Cost-variety which means Ms. Marvel’s ability will usually be employed in every lane. Cards like Korg and Rockslide will jam up your opponent’s deck, boosting Darkhawk‘s Power, and if the rocks manage to slide into the opponent’s hand, Ronan is there to soak up the points.
A common problem Ms. Marvel players will encounter is junk decks with cards like Viper and Debrii throwing things into their lanes. This can choke up lanes and cause Ms. Marvel’s ability to be null. Carnage can come in extremely handy in these scenarios and it can also be used to destroy The Hood after its ability has been played.
Deck Contents:
- Ms. Marvel
- Korg
- The Hood
- Zabu
- Carnage
- Cosmo
- Rockslide
- Darkhawk
- Ronan the Accuser
- Valkyrie
- Doctor Doom
- America Chavez
Best Ms. Marvel Counters
Unfortunately, Ms. Marvel has a lot of counters. The counters will fall under the Move or Junk deck archetypes, so those are the ones that players should really look out for. The full list below will explain some of Ms. Marvel’s most common counters and how they will affect players using her in their deck.
Ability Negating Cards
- Rogue (On Reveal: Steal the text from a random enemy Ongoing card here.)
- Rogue will remove Ms. Marvel’s ability and absorb it for herself. This gives your opponent the boost instead of you.
- Enchantress (On Reveal: Remove the abilities from all Ongoing cards at this location.)
- Enchantress is every Ongoing card’s worst nightmare. This card will simply remove the Ongoing effect from all cards in the lane where it is played. Game over for Ms. Marvel.
Move Cards
- Spider-Man (On Reveal: Move to another location and pull an enemy card from here to there.)
- Spider-Man will move a card in the lane where he is played to a different lane. This can upset Ms. Marvel’s ability is it adds multiple cards with the same Cost to a lane.
- Polaris (On Reveal: Move an opposing 1 or 2-Cost card to this location.)
- Polaris, like Spider-Man, will move a card from one lane to another, but this time it is exclusively 1 or 2-Cost cards. This might seem like less of a threat, but it isn’t really in the grand scheme of a game. All it takes for Ms. Marvel’s ability to be nulled out is two cards with the same Cost in one lane.
- Magneto (On Reveal: Move all opposing 3 and 4-Cost cards to this location.)
- Magneto can easily wreck a Ms. Marvel strategy. He moves all opposing 3 and 4-Cost cards to the lane where he is played. Since he is played on turn six, it is easy to choreograph a disruption to a Ms. Marvel deck and can also be hard to anticipate.
- Aero (On Reveal: Move the last enemy card played this turn to this location.)
- Aero moves the last card played to the lane where she is played. This can be harder, but certainly not impossible, to disrupt a Ms. Marvel deck. It is one to watch out for. Aero has fallen out of the meta in recent seasons but may make a return with the debut of Ms. Marvel.
Junk Cards
- Debrii (On Reveal: Add a Rock to each other location, for both players.)
- Debrii will throw 1-Cost rocks into the other locations on both sides of the field. This can disrupt Ms. Marvel’s ability if there are other 1-Cost cards in your lanes.
- Viper (On Reveal: One of your other cards here switches sides.)
- Viper will throw a card onto the opponent’s side of the board. Since this card is played pretty situationally, it’s a lot harder to choreograph a disruption, but it is still one to watch out for.
- Green Goblin (On Reveal: Switch sides.)
- Green Goblin will switch sides, ruining a lane by bower lowering its total power and also negating Ms. Marvel’s ability if there is already a 3-Cost card present.
- Hobgoblin (On Reveal: Switch sides.)
- Same general concept as Green Goblin, Hobgoblin switches to the opponent’s side of the board and massively dampens the total power there. It’s less likely to disrupt things since it is a 5-Cost card and would only harm to Ms. Marvel’s ability if there was another 5-Cost card present in that lane, but it is still possible.
Best Ms. Marvel Synergies
Ms. Marvel synergizes well with many different cards. Because her ability is pretty loose, really any combination of cards can be used to her advantage. With that said, the cards that really work well with Ms. Marvel are ones that can either project power into other lanes (Mister Fantastic, Klaw, Omega Red, Doctor Doom, ETC), play off of Ms. Marvel’s Ongiong ability (Mystique, Onslaught, Spectrum, ETC), or cards that can stand alone in their own lane for massive power (Orka, Namor, ETC). A full list of cards that synergize well with Ms. Marvel can be found below. These aren’t the only cards that work well, but they are the cards we recommend pairing with Marvel.
- Nebula – Can load up on power in one lane, and its low-cost means it can be played early.
- Klaw – Klaw can project power into adjacent lanes, making him the perfect fit for a Ms. Marvel deck.
- Storm – Storm can block up a lane, stopping opponents from playing cards there. The lane can then be boosted with Ms. Marvel (or others like Klaw, Mister Fantastic, ETC).
- Invisible Woman – Invisible Woman can be used as a shield for Ms. Marvel or other Ongoing cards, stopping cards like Enchantress or Rogue from swiping their abilities.
- Omega Red – Omega Red can boost other lanes, playing into Ms. Marvel’s ability extremely well.
- Namor – Namor will get a huge boost if he is the only card played in his lane. This can then get a larger boost from Ms. Marvel.
- Orka – Orka works in the same basic way as Namor. Played in a solo lane and then boosted by Ms. Marvel.
- Mystique – Mystique, if played after Ms. Marvel, will duplicate her ability and give additional power to your lanes.
- Onslaught – Onslaught, if played in the same lane as Ms. Marvel, will double her ability and give a huge boost to applicable lanes.
- Spectrum – Spectrum will give a slight boost to Ms. Marvel (and other Ongoing cards).
- Mister Fantastic – Mister Fantastic can boost power to other lanes, which is a huge boon for Ms. Marvel decks.
- Doctor Doom – Doctor Doom can throw two other 6-Cost cards into the lanes on your side, which can greatly benefit from Ms. Marvel’s ability.
