The Talos Principle 2 has many mechanics and devices to keep players well-invested as they make their way through the game. A game does not need to have many moving parts to be considered an amazing puzzle game, but it does help keep things always feeling fresh.
After you have cleared the tutorial puzzles and Grasslands Ring, you will move on to the Wooded Plateau. This will introduce you to some new visual surroundings and some new devices such as the Driller — which will be key to solving Mutual Aid.
Mutual Aid – Getting Into The Second Room
At the start of this puzzle, there will be an active red laser pointing towards a red sun. The only problem is there is a wall between the two. You won’t need to spend any Prometheus Sparks as there is a simple solution to this. This is a special wall that a Driller can make a hole in. Run through the red laser, and you will find a Driller sitting on the other side of this laser. Use this Driller to make a hole in the wall where the red laser is pointing — this will allow the laser to reach the red sun on the other side and open the barrier to the right of it.
Turn around and follow the wall that the red laser is on to find a Jammer sitting in front of a tree. Follow the red laser to where the red sun is and you will find an open barrier. Stand on the other side of this open barrier and use the Jammer on the barrier. Go back and pick up the Driller and head back to the barrier — the barrier will stay open thanks to the Jammer.
Mutual Aid – Getting To The Progress Wheel
As you walk into the room beyond the barrier, there will be two special walls on the left, one special wall straight ahead, and a barrier to the right. Use the Driller on any of these special walls. Take the Jammer and move it near the hole you just made. Now, turn around and use the Jammer to jam the barrier opposite the hole you are in front of. Go through this open barrier and turn left. Follow the path to the hole you put the Jammer next to — there will be a blue barrier on the opposite side of the two special walls.
Take the Jammer out of the room with the Driller using the hole. Backtrack to the barrier that leads to the room with the Driller still in it. This barrier will now be closed because you removed the Jammer, so use the Jammer on it again. You can now go into the room and take the Driller. Bring the Driller back to the barrier opposite where you took the Jammer out of the hole. Bring the Jammer to this same barrier and use it to jam the barrier. Now pick up the Driller and walk through the jammed barrier, take a right turn, and you will see a button on the floor. Place the Driller on this button to open the barrier that leads to the Progress Wheel.
