Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will mark the return of some classic multiplayer maps from 2009’s Modern Warfare 2 (not to be confused with 2022’s Modern Warfare 2). However, at the time of writing this article, Modern Warfare 3 hasn’t even been fully released, but players are already jumping into the new maps and discovering some serious map exploits.
For those who have pre-ordered the digital version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, access to the game’s somewhat short campaign is available now. As for multiplayer and zombies, the full release is set for this Thursday or Friday, depending on your time zone. But despite the game not being officially available yet, players are somehow jumping into multiplayer offline with bot lobbies.
One of the many players jumping into Modern Warfare 3 already is X (formerly known as Twitter) user Vxlues. In a clip posted to their account, which you can see below, the user is testing out a game of ‘Search and Destroy’ on the popular multiplayer map ‘Terminal’. However, they quickly discovered that the bomb could be planted on site A from the outside of the plane and through the wall.
This might not seem like a big deal to many, but Search and Destroy is a highly competitive mode in the Call of Duty community, so any unfair advantage is sure to cause an uproar in the community. There is, however, the chance that this is patched pretty quickly. Given that the user is playing before the game’s release, we could see issues like this fixed in a day-one patch.
But that hasn’t been the only issue discovered by players. X user Nova responded to the previous post with a clip of their own, showcasing how players can slide past the bomb, pick it up, and defuse it in a much safer position than they would be able to if they just picked the bomb up normally. Again, this makes for an unfair advantage in a highly competitive game mode.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is set to launch for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on Friday, November 10th (or Thursday, November 9th, depending on your timezone).
