Although it doesn’t seem like it was the most enjoyable experience in the world, a Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 player has reached the maximum level in the game (60) before even completing the game’s very first mission.
In a recent Reddit post on the Spider-Man subreddit, which has garnered over 1,700 upvotes at the time of writing this article, user arthyeee published images showcasing how they were at the maximum level and still hadn’t actually started the very first mission. Unfortunately, it seems like the process of doing this isn’t all that entertaining.
In response to another user who asked what we were all thinking, how?!, arthyeee replied by saying, “basically, there’s a glitch that abuses the dash and jump in the air ability while doing air tricks that for some reason makes the game give you absurd amounts of xp. The game caps at 400 xp per continuous tricks, but you can still level up insanely quick”.
Once it was discovered how the user pulled off this impressive feat, others responded by asking how long it took them. While the user didn’t have an exact time, they speculated that it took around 4 hours, but it “felt much longer”. It’s important to note though, that if you do want to spend roughly 4 hours of your life doing this, the user did also state that they owned the deluxe edition of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which grants players with extra points. This allowed them to purchase air dash and other jump abilities much quicker.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has been a huge hit for developer Insomniac Games. The studio recently announced that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 had sold over 5 million copies since launch, an incredibly impressive feat for a title that is only available on the PlayStation 5. Alongside the impressive sales announcement, Insomniac has also been continuously updating Spider-Man 2 with new bug fixes.
The latest patch, which was released earlier this week, addressed a number of bugs and stability issues. You can read the full patch notes on Insomniac’s website for further details.
