Using nothing but a simple console command, Starfield players are shrinking Vasco into a miniature robot in the hopes that it will make the much-hated NPC a little more bearable.
Reddit user Money-Mechanic recently took to the Starfield subreddit to share their discovery, featuring an in-game screenshot of their character next to a much smaller version of Vasco. The discovery has clearly resonated well with all of the Vasco haters out there, as the post has amassed over 5,000 upvotes at the time of writing this article.
If, like countless other Starfield players, you’re sick of Vasco clipping through your ship or constantly getting in your way as you attempt to board your ship (that constantly-chipper robot attitude he has really grates on you, doesn’t it?), then you simply need to enter a console command. Sorry, Xbox users, there’s currently no way to use console commands on the Xbox Series X|S version of Starfield.
If you’re a PC player, open up console commands by pressing the Grave (`) key on UK keyboards or the Tilde (~) key on US keyboards. Once you’ve done that, you’ll need to click on Vasco and then type “setscale 0.4” into the console command. The Reddit user who brought attention to this trick has also noted that you can use whatever number you like, but found that 0.4 is the most appropriate size for Vasco.
If, for some bizarre reason, you want to make Vasco even bigger than he already is, just increase the number you’re typing into the console command. Or, if you’d like to increase Vasco’s walking speed because he now has tiny robot legs, use the command “setav speedmult 300”.
Vasco isn’t the only NPC or in-game entity that these commands can be used on either. If you’d like to make other NPCs bigger, or smaller, simply click on them and use the same process mentioned previously.
