Counter-Strike Global Offensive had a relatively simple ranking system, but with Counter-Strike 2, things have changed up a bit. Below, I’ll explain how the ranks compare.
CS2 ranks compared to CSGO
In CS:GO, you started off as Silver and had to progress through the ranks to reach Global Elite in competitive mode. In Counter-Strike 2, the premier mode provides clarity, indicating exactly when you can expect to rank up based on the number of points you have.
The points are associated with a tier color, and as you progress through the ranks, you can expect being bumped up to the next tier.
CS:GO Rank | Points | Color |
---|---|---|
Silver 1–Silver Elite Master | 1000–4999 | Gray |
Gold Nova 1–Gold Nova Master | 5000–9999 | Light Blue |
Master Guardian 1–Master Guardian Elite | 10000–14999 | Blue |
Distinguished Master Guardian–Legendary Eagle Master | 15000–19999 | Purple |
Supreme Master First Class | 20000–24999 | Pink |
Global Elite | 25000–29999 | Red |
Global Elite+ | 30000+ | Gold |
CS2 compiles data from all players throughout the game and creates a unified leaderboard publicly accessible using the game’s data. This leaderboard is available on various websites, utilizing the API to display a list of players with the highest points. You can use websites such as CSStats or Tracker to view this leaderboard.
Increasing your rating works similarly to CS:GO, where your performance in each game determines the number of points you will receive. This rating resets if you stop playing for a while or if the game undergoes a major update.
