Disney Dreamlight Valley Germs Abound Quest Guide

Mike returns to the Valley with you after completing his “Eyes on the Prize” quest, but since arriving there, his allergies have been terrible. He’s unsure what’s causing them, but he needs some relief. First, he’ll ask you to head to Scrooge McDuck’s shop and buy him some Safety Goggles.

How to order Safety Goggles

Approach Scrooge in his shop and choose the option to Order Items. Here, select Clothes and press the request from Mike in the filters. This should narrow it down to the goggles he wants; however, mine was glitched out and showed multiple clothing items along with them. You need the green and yellow monster-looking goggles, but they will cost you 30,000 Star Coins to purchase.

You can earn some Star Coins quickly by selling the extra crops you grow in your garden or, even better, by selling Gems from deposits or the Mines. Once you have the goggles, equip them from your Wardrobe and speak to Mike again to continue.

Where to collect questionable ingredients from Villager Houses

Mike will be grateful for the Safety Goggles, but it still doesn’t solve his allergy problem. However, he does have another idea. Create a de-pollinator by gathering a few ‘questionable’ ingredients. You’ll find these ingredients in different villagers’ houses around the Valley. Here’s where to get them:

  • Something suitably slimy and cold from Mickey’s House – Fudge goo from Mickey’s fridge
  • Something in Goofy’s House that long ago was wriggly and tantalizing – Fishing bait from Goofy’s bedside table
  • Something stashed and covered for ages from Merlin’s library – Crumbs from Merlin’s purple enchanted bag

With these strange ingredients, Mike will whip up a family recipe of some de-pollinator. You can apply this to your Watering Can as an upgrade via your Inventory. Now, Mike wants you to use this to water some flowers around the Valley and see if it rids them of their pollen. You’ll need to water and pick ten random flowers.

How to find Mike’s contact lens

Unfortunately, even after the de-pollinator solution, Mike is still sneezing, and he has sneezed so hard that he has blown his contact lens right out of his eye. Now, you’ll have to track it down. He says he believes it has gone down toward Dazzle Beach, so here’s how to find it:

There will be a trail of nasty puddles leading down from the Dazzle Beach steps. You can follow those, using your Watering Can to clean up the mess on the way. They will lead to the contact lens. I found it near the dock (as shown on the map above).

How to craft a Rozian Mask

Now that you’ve solved that mini-problem, you can return to the main issue. Mike’s allergies are still bad, so it’s time to devise another plan. You have come to the conclusion that Mike’s allergies seemed to come from unresolved anxiety related to Roz back in Monstropolis. You’re going to dress up as Roz to see if triggers any response from Mike, but to do that, you’ll need to craft the perfect outfit.

You’ll need the following materials to make the Roz disguise:

  • Fabric x15 – Made from Cotton, seeds purchasable from Sunlit Plateau (75 Cotton total)
  • Rope x23 – Made from Fiber, which is made from Seaweed
  • Softwood x25 – Found on the ground in the Plaza and Peaceful Meadow

With the Roz Mask crafted, equip it from your Wardrobe and a red shirt to complete the look (you can set the filters to see precisely what shirts will work for the quest). Then, approach Mike to begin the therapy session.

As expected, Mike’s allergy problems stem all the way back to unresolved issues back at his home, specifically with his strict old boss, Roz. Now that he’s worked through them, he can fully enjoy himself in the Valley, and you can continue progressing your friendship!
