The Company of Heroes 3 military strategy team has unveiled a new trailer, which is dedicated to the destruction system of the environment in the game. The video shows a lot of destructible 3D buildings.
The developers of Company of Heroes 3 managed to make a procedural animation of the destruction of buildings in the game that looks really authentic and advanced. The boxes of buildings will not stack in a couple of pre-created animations when taking enough damage. Weak shots can knock out windows in a house or even knock down a wall, which will plausibly shatter into bricks, and the latter will remain on the ground. In turn, a powerful shelling or artillery hit can cause the building to collapse – if the load-bearing walls are damaged in the process. In short, it is better to see this picture in motion: the clip can be found above.
As a reminder, Company of Heroes 3 does not yet have an exact release date. However, SEGA plans to release the title by the end of this year. The strategy will use Essense Engine 5 – and, apparently, it can set new standards for the entire genre in terms of interactivity and destructible environments.
