Assassin’s Creed Mirage: 10 Tips & Tricks For Stealth

Advertisements

Saying stealth games are a niche market is not entirely accurate. Each generation of gaming has its iconic franchises and entries of various renown. Over the decades, the genre has continued to evolve, try out new mechanics, and blur the lines between different genres.

Stealth was one of the main focus points of the original Assassin’s Creed and one of the vital points for pulling off amazing assassinations of your targets. Stealth has a much larger focus on it in Assassin’s Creed Mirage than it did in the last few titles that preceded it.

10 Social Stealth Effects All Directions

Social stealth allows Basim to stay hidden while he is in a group of 3 or more people. This does not mean you need to go into a group to use it, but can move between two separate people to act as a link that makes a group of 3.

This can be two individuals who are walking one ahead of the other, side by side, or even with one to Basim’s front left and one to his back right to make a diagonal line. You can even use one person standing in a group on one side of the street with another on the other side of the street.

9 Lying In Wait

Assassin's Creed Mirage Lie and wait

Stealth can be just as tense and reflex-reliant as deflecting attacks in combat. While you are hidden within one of the game’s many diverse hiding spots, you can wait for an unobserved single target to move ever closer to your hiding place of choice and then pop out to claim their life.

This lets you stay completely hidden while lowering the number of threats with each passerby. This way, if things go south, the number of enemies in the area will be significantly lower and make for an easier combat encounter.

8 Make Use Of Your Whistle

When you whistle, it can attract a guard’s attention and have them come over to investigate. This gives you time to get to higher ground for an aerial assassination or hop into a nearby hiding spot, ready for when they come your way.

It is worth noting that even if a large group hears your whistle, only one of them will come to investigate the sound. This means you will not have to deal with a large group of enemies all coming to where you whistled all at once.

7 Make Sure Nobody Is Watching

Enemies who see an ally of theirs get taken out by Basim will come running with hostile intent. As previously mentioned, if you use your whistle, and it makes multiple targets aware of you, only one of them will come your way.

However, that doesn’t mean it’s safe to immediately take out the enemy that has come to where you whistled. Be sure to have your attracted target go around a corner and out of sight of his allies, or wait until all their allies are no longer looking their way.

6 Save Before Infiltrations

Assassin's Creed Mirage Marking targets

You can use Enkidu to mark all the enemies in an area. This will help a lot by knowing where all the enemies are located and what directions they are moving. After doing so, do not immediately engage your marked enemies just yet.

Instead, make a save of the game first. This will also save all the marks you just placed on them. This way, if things go wrong and you want to load a save before you start, everyone will still be marked, and you won’t need to repeat this step.

5 Hide Bodies In The Same Place

While you are hidden, taking out an enemy lets you pull them into your hiding spot. It doesn’t end there, though, you can keep doing this from the same place without needing to risk exposing yourself. If you take out a target stealthily out in the open, you can cart them to the nearest pile of hay to dump their body.

If the game only allowed you to put one body per bale of hay, you would need to plot out every single one and decide which one is best suited for each target. However, since you can keep using the same pile of hay over and over again, you can focus on a much smaller area with only nearby targets as potential risks.

4 Know When To Run

Assassin's Creed Mirage running

Sometimes, things do not go as planned, and the guards will become aware of you. Do not feel like all is lost and that you need to get into a full-on fight because the element of surprise is gone. It is a perfectly reasonable strategy to just start running.

Be sure to make use of different elevations, as guards have a harder time traversing complex terrain than you do. If the enemies completely lose all trace of you, you’ll be able to get the drop on them later.

3 Use Environmental Objects

Assassin's Creed Mirage Red Powder

When you see some guards near a Red Powder Bag, you can destroy the back to fill the area with a cloud of red smoke. This will give enough time to take them all out. Also, while hostile guards are chasing after you, you will find pieces of terrain in the form of building scaffolding that prompt you to “collapse” them.

Using one of these can hinder your pursuers and give you the time you need to make a daring escape. If these pursuers are right behind you, using these pieces of terrain when they are close enough will allow you to pull this scaffolding on top of them.

2 Explosive Pots

Assassin's Creed Mirage Red Pot

You will see plenty of red pots with flames in the game. These can be utilized in many different ways. If you see some guards by one of these pots, you can use a throwing knife to cause an explosion to take them out. If you pick up a pot, you can then throw it into a group of guards to take them all out at once.

You can also use your whistle near one of these pots to attract a guard towards it and then hit the same pot with a throwing knife once they get close. These pots are rather noisy and will attract attention, which can be a good thing to lure guards where you want them.

1 Disable Bells

Assassin's Creed Mirage Bell

You will find small links that normally hold up heavy objects such as stones or sacks. By destroying these links, the heavy object will fall and take out any hostiles under it. These links are not used for just these situations. They are also used for the bells you will see all throughout the game.

When you are seen, an enemy will go and ring this bell to alert others. While you still have the element of surprise, you can disable these bells by destroying the link. Upon being seen, an enemy will still go running to the bell, not aware it has already been disabled.
