Assassin’s Creed Mirage portrays Basim’s journey right from being a neighborhood thief to being a part of the Hidden Ones, and one of the first missions in the game can actually put players in a tight spot.
Ubisoft has switched the focus of the franchise from RPG elements to hardcore stealth, and players would find it almost impossible to play aggressively for most of the missions. In the prologue mission of the game, The Master Thief of Anbar, Basim gets a contract from the Hidden Ones via Dervis to fetch a ledger for them. This eventually lays down the foundation of the game and serves as a great starting point to get a hang of the game’s mechanics.
How To Bypass The Guards
The first objective can be a bit daunting, as players are required to directly infiltrate a heavily guarded area without being detected. While the game does give a few pointers to get a hang of the stealth mechanics in the game, players who have the difficulty settings ramped up can still find it extremely difficult to make their way around the area.
The old tips and tricks of Assassin’s Creed games stay relevant here, and players should try to stay hidden by making their way through the grass. Like always, it is never a great idea to head inside from the main entrance directly, so you should try to enter from the left part of the settlement. Right near the docks, you will find a ramp with an enemy standing beside it. It could be a tad difficult to spot him, so we recommend using your Eagle Vision to make things easier. Although you don’t have your Hidden Blade yet, you should still be able to take down enemies.
If you are not able to sneak toward enemies, you can hide in the grass close to them and whistle to lure them towards you. Once you have taken him down, use the ramp to make your way inside the guarded area and follow the objective to reach the Ledger. However, there is one more thing that stands between the ledger and you: the locked door.
How To Steal The Door Key & Ledger
In order to steal the ledger, players will first need to unlock the door. From the locked door, take a right and activate Eagle Vision to find the key right in the adjacent building. However, there are a few hurdles on the way. Start off by going down the staircase and taking down the enemy on your left. Continue forward and hide in the grass, then whistle to lure the enemy right in front of the door entrance.
Head inside the shack after taking him down and climb up the staircase to find the guard with the key. You can pickpocket the key, but we wouldn’t really recommend doing that since it might expose you totally. After you have taken him down, don’t forget to loot his body. Head back to the locked door, and you will be able to unlock it now. Grab the ledger and the other items in the room, and use the same path via the ramp to head backward to leave the area undetected.
