Other than Perks, Items are the most useful part of your loadout that you need to set up. To make them even better, check out the best Add-on combos for all Items in Dead by Daylight.
Best Survivor Item Add-Ons to combine in DBD
There are many Add-ons you can choose from for your Items, but honestly, a lot of them are pretty useless, especially if you don’t properly combine them in your loadout. Take it from someone who used to put sabo Add-ons on a gen repair Toolbox. It doesn’t work. Here are the best Survivor item Add-ons you can combine in DBD to avoid making the same mistakes I did.
Best Add-On Combos for Toolboxes in Dead by Daylight
There are Toolboxes specialized for either gen repair, sabo, or both, in the rare case of the Commodius. That’s why you need to be very precise when setting up the boxes for a trial. Here are the best Add-ons for Toolboxes in all cases.
- Brand New Part + Wire Spool / Socket Swivels – The best Add-on you can bring to a match is the Brand New Part. If you use it correctly, you’ll reduce the gen repair requirements by 10 Charges. If you miss the difficult Skill Check and use up Brand New Part, you’ll still have either the Wire Spool for extra charges, which I recommend or Socket Swivels with a speed increase.
- Wire Spool + Scraps -These two Add-ons together will provide you with a lot of extra charges. They are especially useful with Toolboxes like Engineers’ or Mechanics’, which already have a boost in repair speed.
- Hacksaw + Grip Wrench – The first Add-on increases Sabo speed by 20%, while the second Add-on increases the time it takes for hooks to respawn. In best-case scenarios, you’ll be able to reduce the number of available Hooks in an area of the map where a Survivor is being chased. This can be of huge help during if they get caught, as they’ll have more time to wiggle out while the Killer is looking for a Hook.
Best Add-On Combos for Med Kits in Dead by Daylight
Med Kits are extremely useful, if not the most useful item in Dead by Daylight. You can use them to heal both your teammates and yourself. This is especially important if you don’t run any healing perks or are playing solo queue. Here are the best Add-ons and Add-on Combos for Med Kits.
- Anti-Haemorrhagic Syringe or Styptic Agent—Since both of these Add-ons consume the Med Kit once you use it, you should bring one or the other. You can also bring both, but they don’t stack, so one of these will essentially be useless to you in each trial. You might want to give yourself some extra charges instead to heal during the early game.
- Gel Dressings + Gauze Roll – the best combo if you want to get a bunch of extra charges on your Med Kit. The Gel itself will give you 16 charges, which equals one extra Health state. The Gauze gives you 10 extra charges on top of that, which is useful even with the Brown Med Kit. You can also replace the Gauze Roll with the Self-Adherent Wrap for fewer charges but a slight increase in healing speed instead.
- Gel Dressings + Surgical Suture – This is another combo that works to prolong your Med Kit use. Gel Dressings provides you with extra charges. Surgical Suture Add-ons increase the number of Skill Checks you’ll get, as well as the Progression bonus if you hit Great Skill Checks. So, if you are really skilled at hitting that small Skill Check area, then definitely go with this combo.
Best Add-On Combos for Flashlights in Dead by Daylight
Flashlights are super useful for stunning the Killer and prolonging a chase, but it’s very difficult to learn how to use them. Even after so many hours, I still struggle to hit the Killers with the beam properly. Here are some Add-ons that should make blinding the Killer easier for you.
- High-End Sapphire Lens + Intese Halogen—This combination will give your Flashlights a pretty big boost. You’ll increase the reach of the Beam, brightness from both Add-ons and the duration of a Blind. The High-End Sapphire Lens will also make your beam thinner. If a wider beam works better for you, then replace the Sapphire Lens with the Focus Lens.
- Intense Halogen + Long Life Battery – Intense Halogen increases the brightness of the Beam as well as the duration of the blind, while Long Life Battery extends the battery life by six seconds. This enables you to stun the Killer for longer while also having a little bit of extra juice just in case.
Best Add-On Combos for Maps in Dead by Daylight
There are only two maps, and the Add-on combos you put on maps depend on which one you bring in. The Rainbow map tracks a lot more than the green one, which will need a little extra help.
- Black Silk Cord + Red Twine – If you only have the Green map, I suggest selecting these Add-ons along with the Perk Detective’s Hunch to track even more items across the map. The Black Silk Cord lets you track the Hatch, which is useful if you are the last one in a trial, while Red Twine lets you track the Killer’s belongings.
- Odd Stamp + Unusual Stamp – If you want to increase the range of your map, you should bring in both of these Add-ons. They work best with the Rainbow map to increase its range so that you can keep an eye on items such as Gens, Totems, etc.
- Crystal Bead + Odd Stamp – As mentioned above, Odd Stamp increases the range of items tracked, while the Crystal Bead reveals all Auras of tracked items to all Survivors. This is useful both in solo and in SWF teams since only one person needs to bring in a map for everyone to see its effects.
Best Add-On Combos for Keys in Dead by Daylight
The Green Key is good for Aura reading, but it doesn’t have any option to unlock the Hatch. It’s better to bring the other one that can unlock it, just in case. You never know when you’ll be the last one standing and if you’ll find the Hatch before the Killer closes it.
- Prayer Beads + Blood Amber – Blood Amber is an Add-on that reveals the Killer’s aura when he is in range and you are using Mind Channel. Since this Add-on will deplete the key quicker, combine it with Prayer Beads to increase the time you can use it.
- Weaved Ring – The Ring can work with any other Add-on, but is very useful if you don’t have a lot of Keys left and want to save them. If you die, the Weaved Ring will be consumed instead of the Key. I tend to use it with Blood Amber, which lets me track the Killer.
Firecrackers don’t have any Add-ons, so their success is only based on your skill (I have no skill with them). Flash Grenades from Leon’s perk also fall into this area since you craft them inside a trial, which means you can’t equip add-ons before that.
