As you know, Overwatch 2 is supposed to replace the first part – with the preservation of all the progress made by players in unlocking various character appearances, emotions, lines and other “cosmetics”. It’s OK, but in Overwatch the “Loot Boxes” system prevails, while in Overwatch 2 we’ll have the usual for the modern gamers free cosmetic content store and a combat pass. How to deal with this situation?
The solution, in fact, is simple and succinct. Firstly, all the virtual coins (gold), competition points (purple) and Overwatch League tokens (blue) you earned and/or bought in Overwatch will be transferred to the sequel. Secondly, any unopened “lootboxes” you have left will automatically open in Overwatch 2 without your involvement – adding their contents to your collection. Obviously, these in-game currencies will also be available for purchase in Overwatch 2.
As a reminder, Overwatch 2 will be released in early access (without PvE content) on October fourth. And on June 28, the second phase of beta testing will begin.
