The Power Glove for the NES is a gizmo as iconic as it is unhelpful. Playing with it in the eighties and nineties was fun as an experience, but the traditional gamepad was dozens of times more convenient. Can the glove get a second life today? To some, it seems so.
The author of the Will it Work? channel managed to plug one of the strangest gamepads ever into an Xbox Series S console. And then he tried to play a couple of games. The first one he ran was Halo Infinite – and it turned out to be unplayable. The shooter requires two axes to control, while the Power Glove provides only one.
The arcade snowboarding game Shredders was a little better to play – the movements of your arms really allowed you to control the character very smoothly. But the accuracy was still mediocre, so the blogger decided not to conduct further experiments. Power Glove is still as bad after three decades.
By the way, not so long ago the same blogger connected the accessory to the Nintendo Switch. The results were no better, although it is rather surprising that the glove works at all.
