World of Warcraft Mobile has been shut down after three years of development. Apparently, the developers and the publisher haven’t decided what financial model to use to distribute the game.
We and our readers eagerly awaited the announcement of World of Warcraft Mobile. Instead we got Warcraft Arclight Rumble, an arcade action game with “tower defense” elements. The hope was still smoldering, but it turned out that now we shouldn’t wait for the mobile MMORPG. Bloomberg assures, citing anonymous sources, that the project was closed without ever being released.
Perhaps such a disagreement will put an end to the partnership between NetEase and Blizzard, who released Diablo Immortal together. Probably, BlizzardWe will have to cooperate with another Chinese IT giant, Tencent. The code name for the mobile WoW was Neptune. It would be a spinoff whose action would take place in a different time period than in the PC version. It is not yet clear whether Blizzard will try to continue the project, but with a different publisher. One thing is clear, NetEase has already disbanded a team of about 100 people.
