Arc received the 3.0 treatment with the launch of Season of the Plunder in Destiny 2. Every class got access to three brand new aspects as well as a collection of 16 fragments to choose from. Each fragment brings something new to the table and provides some amazing build crafting potential.
Arc is all about speed, being Amplified, generating Ionic traces, and Jolting combatants for ad-clear. Jolt is one of the strongest subclass verbs in the game and is one of the best buffs for clearing waves of combatants.
10 Spark Of Volts
Spark of Volts states “Finishers make you Amplified.” Amplified is an Arc subclass buff that provides the player with +50 mobility, faster sprint speed, faster slide as well and longer jumps. You can usually get Amplified by getting rapid Arc blows.
Spark of Volts provides another easy way to get Amplified. When you perform a finisher, you get Amplified for 15 seconds, and it can be refreshed by using the finisher again on a different enemy. Since this Fragment cannot work in The Crucible it also comes with +10 Recovery.
9 Spark Of Instinct
Spark of Instinct states “While critically wounded, taking damage emits a burst of damaging Arc energy that Jolts target.” A player becomes critically wounded when his shields are broken and the health bar turns red.
Spark of Instinct is a great way to get out of danger if you are surrounded by combatants, as it Jolts all the nearby enemies as soon as your shields get depleted. Once the nearby enemies are Jolted, it will be extremely easy to deal with them though it depends on the difficulty of the content.
8 Spark Of Amplitude
Spark of Amplitudes focuses on generating Orbs of Power as it works as “Rapidly defeating targets while you are Amplified creates an Orb of Power.” You can easily get amplified by rapidly getting Arc kills.
Orbs of Power are the backbone of the current build crafting as they are directly tied to Armor charges. Armor charges can be then used to get extra damage as well as improved ability regeneration. Spark of Amplitude is a great way to create extra Orbs of Power for you and your nearby allies.
7 Spark Of Beacons
Spark of Beacons facilitates Blinding which is extremely potent in higher-tier content as it leaves your enemies unable to do anything. Spark of Beacons states “While you are Amplified, your Arc Special weapon final blows create a blinding explosion.”
Spark of Beacons does require you to have an Arc Special weapon as well as being Amplified, but the results are worth it as you can effectively blind an entire group of combatants with just a single weapon blow.
6 Spark Of Brilliance
Spark of Brilliance ties directly to the Fragment Spark of Beacons to greatly improve the playstyle of Blinding every single enemy combatant. Spark of Brilliance states “Defeating a Blinded target with precision damage creates a blinding explosion.”
Spark of Brilliance also comes with a +10 Intellect. Spark of Beacons already provides a method of Blinding targets by using Arc special weapons, which can be directly tied into the Spark of Brilliance working to keep the Blinding loop going.
5 Spark Of Shock
Spark of Shock allows your Arc Grenades to Jolt combatants as it states that “Your Arc Grenades Jolt targets.” However equipping Spark of Shock comes with a penalty of -10 Discipline, but it is completely worth it, considering how easy it becomes to Jolt targets.
Arc Grenades are some of the best Grenade options in the game when it comes to clearing combatants as well as dealing damage. These abilities of Arc Grenades are further enhanced thanks to Spark of Shock.
4 Spark Of Magnitude
Spark of Magnitude improves the duration of Arc Grenades as it states “Your lingering Arc Grenades (Lightning Grenades, Pulse Grenade, and Storm Grenade) have extended duration.” All these Grenades are incredible to begin with and Spark of Magnitude further enhances them.
Spark of Magnitude increases the duration of all these Arc Grenades by about 33 percent which equates to more crowd control as well as damage. You can combine this with Spark of Shock to further add Jolt capabilities to your Grenades.
3 Spark Of Ions
Spark of Ions greatly compliments Spark of Shock as it states “Defeating a Jolted target creates an Ionic Trace.” Ionic Traces are Arc elemental pickups that provide ability energy to Grenades, Melee as well as Class ability.
Ionic Traces are a key component in any Arc build thanks to the ridiculous amount of ability energy they provide. Spark of Ions allows you to easily create Ionic Traces by defeating Jolted targets. This Fragment combined with Spark of Shock alone provides you with a build that is capable of ad-clearing as well as ability regeneration.
2 Spark Of Discharge
Spark of Discharge requires the use of an Arc weapon, which everyone should use, to begin with if you are running an Arc subclass. Spark of Discharge states “Arc weapon final blows have a chance to create Ionic traces.”
Ionic Traces are arguably the best elemental pickups thanks to the amount of ability energy they provide and Spark of Discharge provides an easy way to generate them. Spark of Discharge can also stack with Spark of Ions to create even more Ionic Traces.
1 Spark Of Resistance
Spark of Resistance is the only way you can get damage resistance on an Arc subclass, while Solar has Cure and Restoration, Void has Devour, Strand has Woven Mail, and Stasis has damage resistance as well as Overshields, Arc only has Spark of Resistance.
Spark of Resistance states “While surrounded by combatants, you are more resistant to incoming damage.” Spark of Resistance requires three enemy combatants within a 15-meter radius and provides a 25 percent damage resistance in PvE.
