With the launch of the Lightfall campaign in Destiny 2, a new Darkness Subclass called Strand was introduced in the game, and with it, new Strand weapons. These weapons are just like Stasis weapons that belong in either the primary slot or the heavy slot.
Strand weapons synergize extremely well with the Strand subclass, and are obtained from various sources ranging from patrol activities on Neomuna to seasonal activities and raids.
9 Crowning Duologue
Crowning Duologue is the first ever Strand Rocket Launcher that is available from the Solstice event in Destiny 2. Crowning Duologue belongs to the Precision Frame family of Rocket Launchers which is not exactly popular. Crowning Duologue also lacks DPS perks making it a bit underwhelming.
In the left column, we have perks like Demolitionist, Field Prep, and Auto-Loading Holster while in the right column, Envious Assassin and Cluster Bomb are the only worthwhile perks. The lack of damage perks makes this gun seriously underwhelming.
8 Different Times
Different Times is a Rapid-Fire Pulse Rifle that belongs to the set of Seasonal weapons from Season of the Deep. Rapid-Fire Pulses are a lot of fun to use in both PvE and Crucible and fortunately, Different Times brings perks for both.
For PvE, in the left column we have perks like Outlaw, Stats for All, and Subsistence whereas in the left column, we have perks like Hatchling and Golden Tricorn. For PvP, Different Times can also roll with the perk Headseeker automatically making it top-tier.
7 Glissando-47
Glissando-47 is a Strand Scout Rifle that is a part of the world loot pool. World loot pool weapons have some amazing perk combinations and this gun is no different. Being a Scout Rifle, it is also useful in endgame content like Grandmaster Nightfalls.
In the left column, Glissando-47 can roll with Overflow and Reconstruction for PvE while being able to roll with One for All, Cascade Point, and Hatchling in the right column. This gun also comes with the perk Box Breathing making it one of the deadliest long-range weapons for The Crucible.
6 Round Robin
Round Robin is an Aggressive Frame Hand Cannon from Neomuna’s destination and is also craftable. This gun is extremely popular in Crucible right now due to it having Kill Clip on it. Kill Clip is an insane perk for PvP, especially on an Aggressive Frame Hand Cannon, as it reduces the time-to-kill significantly.
This gun has some extremely good synergistic perks for PvE too, but the problem with this hand cannon (and aggressive frame in general) is the low reload speed. Not having any reload-boosting perks in the left column, this gun feels extremely sluggish to use in PvE.
5 Final Warning
The first Exotic on our list is the sidearm, Final Warning. It is obtained through a quest that is started after a player has completed their Strand subclass on a single character. This gun has some seriously high damage and also has auto-aim, which makes it an extremely fun weapon to use in both PvE and PvP.
It has an Exotic trait, All At Once, which states, “Holding down the trigger marks targets within range and loads multiple bullets, which fire in a burst with increased stability on trigger release. Hitting a marked target with a fully charged burst will unravel them.” This gun removes the auto-aim functionality while aiming down sight, but it massively increases critical damage in doing so.
4 Quicksilver Storm
Quicksilver Storm was made available in Season of Plunder by preordering the Deluxe edition of Lightfall and was initially a Kinetic weapon. The catalyst of Quicksilver Storm was released with the launch of Lightfall, which changed its damage affinity to Strand.
Quicksilver belongs to the rapid-fire frame of an auto rifle, and its exoticness comes from the fact that it can turn into a grenade launcher after landing multiple shots. The damage of the grenades is nothing to laugh at, and its catalyst causes damage defeated by the grenades to create tangles which add to the synergy with the Strand subclass.
3 Circular Logic
Circular Logic is an Adaptive Frame Machine gun and is obtained from Terminal Overload activity on Neomuna. Thanks to the recent buff given to Machine guns with the launch of Lightfall, they have become a top-tier option for both ad-clear and DPS in PvE.
Circular Logic is also the only Strand Machine gun which makes it a must-have if you are looking for a machine gun to further improve your Strand builds. It can also roll with great synergetic perks like Demolitionist and Hatchling.
2 The Immortal
The Immortal is a terror in the Crucible right now, with its amazing stats and more amazing perk combinations. The Immortal is a powerful Trials of Osiris submachine gun and is the only weapon in the history of the Destiny franchise that became a meta pick in the week it was launched.
The Immortal has insane base stats and whilst having great perks for PvP, also has some nice perks, making it way better than the only other strand submachine gun Synchronic Roulette. Having perks like Demolitionist and Hatchling while also being a Submachine gun makes it a top choice in both PvE and PvP.
1 Rufus’s Fury
Rufus’s Fury is a Rapid-Fire Frame Auto Rifle and is obtainable from the Root of Nightmare raid, while also being craftable. Rufus’s Fury has some insane perks that have never been seen before on a Rapid-Fire Frame Auto Rifle.
It has great synergistic perks for PvE, and while rapid-fire frame weapons are not popular in PvP, the perks of Rufus’s Fury make it a top-tier option in the Crucible too. Having access to some of the most busted perk combinations in Destiny history makes this gun the best Strand weapon there is.
