Late last year, Rockstar Games released Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, a long-awaited collection of re-releases of the legendary 3D Grand Theft Auto trilogy. The public was not satisfied with them: these versions of famous games turned out to be crude, ugly, and cheap in the worst sense of the word. The fans took it upon themselves to show what the remakes of the classics could be like.

For example, TeaserPlay has made its own version of the updated Grand Theft Auto III – on the Unreal Engine 5, with City Sample assets (cities from The Matrix Awakens) and a fan model of Claude (the protagonist) by Hossein Diba. From a technical point of view, this version of the classic action game is very impressive – but it’s hard to believe that even Rockstar Games is able to make an action game of such quality.

Recall that the original GTA III was released in 2001 and went straight to the nation’s heart. It was thanks to the success of this game that the relatively little-known Rockstar Games began its way to big money and worldwide recognition.
