Genshin Impact Version 4.3 debuts “Executor of Justice” Chevreuse (Pyro/polearm). This guide will explain everything about how to build Chevreuse and play her in her best teams in Genshin Impact.
Genshin Impact Chevreuse Guide: Abilities description
Talent upgrade priority
No need to level her Normal Attack.
Elemental Skill > Elemental Burst
Normal Attack: Line Bayonet Thrust EX
Normal Attack
Performs up to 4 consecutive spear strikes.
Charged Attack
Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to lunge forward, dealing damage to opponents along the way.
Plunging Attack
Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.
Elemental Skill: Short-Range Rapid Interdiction Fire
Chevreuse quickly shoulders her musket and fires at her opponent(s), dealing AoE Pyro DMG.
For a short duration, after Chevreuse fires a shot, she will continuously restore HP to the active character on the field. The amount healed is based on her Max HP. Hold to fire differently.
Hold
Enter Aiming Mode, locking a target in her sights to fire a precise interdiction shot. If Chevreuse has an Overcharged Ball, then she will fire the Overcharged Ball instead, dealing greater Pyro DMG in a larger area. Chevreuse gains 1 Overcharged Ball every time a nearby character in the party triggers an Overloaded reaction, and can have up to 1 Overcharged Ball at a time.
Arkhe: Ousia
Periodically, after Chevreuse’s Short-Range Rapid Interdiction Fire hits, a Surging Blade will be called forth that deals Ousia-aligned Pyro DMG.
Elemental Burst: Ring of Bursting Grenades
Chevreuse fires an explosive grenade at opponents with her musket, dealing AoE Pyro DMG. After the projectile hits, it will split into many secondary explosive shells. The secondary explosive shells will burst after a short interval, dealing Pyro DMG to nearby opponents.
Ascension 1 Passive: Vanguard’s Coordinated Tactics
When all party members are Pyro and Electro characters and there is at least one Pyro and one Electro character each in the party:
Chevreuse grants “Coordinated Tactics” to nearby party members: After a character triggers the Overloaded reaction, the Pyro and Electro RES of the opponent(s) affected by this Overloaded reaction will be decreased by 40% for 6s. The “Coordinated Tactics” effect will be removed when the Elemental Types of the characters in the party do not meet the basic requirements for the Passive Talent.
Ascension 4 Passive: Vertical Force Coordination
After Chevreuse fires an Overcharged Ball using Short-Range Rapid Interdiction Fire, nearby Pyro and Electro characters in the party gain 1% increased ATK for every 1,000 Max HP Chevreuse has for the 30s. ATK can be increased by up to 40% in this way.
Utility Passive: Double Time March
Decreases sprinting Stamina consumption for your party members by 20%.
Not stackable with Passive Talents that provide the same effects.
Genshin Impact Chevreuse Guide: Abilities explained
Normal Attack: Line Bayonet Thrust EX
The Normal Attacks deal Physical DMG, which is not important for her kit.
Elemental Skill: Short-Range Rapid Interdiction Fire
This Skill has a press and a hold version. Pressing it will shoot her musket at the nearest enemy meanwhile holding it will enter aiming mode to target any specific enemy. This DMG of her Skill scales off her ATK. Every time a party member triggers Overload, Chevreuse gains 1 Overcharged Ball and there can only be 1 Overcharged Ball at any given time.
If she has an Overcharged Ball, this will be fired during a hold Skill. For 12 seconds after firing a shot, Chevreuse will heal the active character based on her max HP. This healing is not enough for her to be the main healer of the team, but it is very appreciated.
Elemental Burst: Ring of Bursting Grenades
Fires a large projectile that deals DMG and then the projectile splits into smaller bombs that explode pretty quickly. These small bombs are arranged in a circle so they can knock smaller enemies towards the center of the circle, offering a very minor crowd control utility.
Ascension 1 Passive: Vanguard’s Coordinated Tactics
This is the most interesting part of her kit. This passive is only activated when the team is made up of only Pyro and Electro units. If any teammate triggers an Overload reaction, the enemies affected by this reaction will have their Pyro and Electro RES reduced by 40% for 6s.
This passive is very similar to Nilou’s Ascension 1 passive in terms of team-building restrictions, but there is a major difference. Nilou buffs EM and the DMG of Dendro cores. Chevreuse does not buff the DMG of the Overload reaction. Overload is merely the triggering condition, she buffs the Pyro and Electro DMG by reducing the affected enemies Pyro and Electro RES.
Ascension 4 Passive: Vertical Force Coordination
Every time Chevreuse fires an Overcharged Ball, Pyro and Electro teammates will gain an ATK buff based on her max HP. A total of 40% increased ATK can be gained from this passive, and it lasts 30s so it has an almost 100% uptime. One good thing about this buff is that it is not exclusive to Pyro/Electro only teams, unlike the Ascension 1 passive.
Utility Passive: Double Time March
Decreases sprinting stamina consumption, which is great for exploration.
Genshin Impact Chevreuse Guide: Playstyle
Chevreuse has a quick-swap playstyle. Here are the tips to play her properly in Genshin Impact.
- Use another teammate’s Electro ability first to trigger Overload
- User her Skill and then Burst
- If you have her C4, use her Burst, then hold Skill twice
Genshin Impact Chevreuse Guide: Materials
As a Pyro character, Chevreuse uses Agnidus Agate stones for ascension and they can be obtained from the Pyro Hypostasis and the Pyro Regisvine. Her other ascension material, Fontemer Unihorn can be obtained from the Millennial Pearl Seahorse. The boss materials for her talents can be obtained from the All-Devouring Narwhal weekly boss. Players can check this out for a detailed breakdown of Chevreuse’s materials.

Genshin Impact Chevreuse Guide: Best Artifacts for Chevreuse
Chevreuse needs anywhere between 140% and 160% to be able to use her Burst every rotation. Ideally, try to reach her ER needs from substats. Also, look for HP% in substats.
Sands | Goblet | Circlet |
---|---|---|
HP% or ER% | HP% | HP% or Healing bonus% |
4pc Noblesse Oblige | 2-Piece Bonus Elemental Burst DMG +20% 4-Piece Bonus Reason: |
2pc Emblem of Severed Fate
and 2pc Tenacity of the Millelith/2pc Vourukasha’s Glow |
2-Piece Bonus Energy Recharge +20% and 2-Piece Bonus Reason: |
2pc Tenacity of the Millelith/2pc Vourukasha’s Glow
and 2pc Maiden Beloved/2pc Ocean-Hued Clam/2pc Song of Days Past |
2-Piece Bonus HP + 20% and 2-Piece Bonus Reason: |
Chevreuse’s best artifact set is the 4pc Noblesse Oblige if no one else in the team is using it. If anyone in the team is using it, then opt for the other two combinations of 2pc sets.
Genshin Impact Chevreuse Guide: Best Team Compositions for Chevreuse
Chevreuse’s best teams will comprise only Pyro and Electro members. These are not the only teams she can work in, these are just templates.
Raiden Shogun | Kujou Sara | Bennett | Chevreuse |
---|---|---|---|
Electro DPS | Electro DMG buffer/ATK buffer | Healer/ATK buffer/Pyro Battery | Healer/ATK buffer/Pyro and Electro RES shred |
This is a variation of the Raiden Hypercarry team, slotting Chevreuse in place of Kazuha. A C6 Chevreuse is not far behind C0 Kazuha in terms of DMG buffing potential. Even a C0 Chevreuse is pretty good. This is huge considering we are comparing a 4* and a 5*. This team can not benefit from Chevreuse’s Pyro RES shred since there is no Pyro DPS.
This is another variant of the Raiden Hypercarry team, opting for Xiangling’s off-field Pyro DMG instead of Kujou Sara’s Electro DMG buff. This team can benefit from Chevreuse’s Pyro RES shred.
Lyney | Fischl | Bennett | Chevreuse |
---|---|---|---|
Pyro DPS | Electro sub-DPS | Healer/ATK buffer/Pyro Battery | Healer/ATK buffer/Pyro and Electro RES shred |
Lyney‘s best team requires 3 Pyro units, so this team is pretty solid for him. The lack of a shielder can be felt at times, and the player needs to exercise caution. Thankfully Lyney can move around while charging his aimed shots.
Yoimiya | Fischl | Bennett | Chevreuse |
---|---|---|---|
Pyro DPS | Electro sub-DPS | Healer/ATK buffer/Pyro Battery | Healer/ATK buffer/Pyro and Electro RES shred |
This team is very similar to Lyney‘s team. Unlike Yoimiya’s Vaporise teams, she is allowed to move around and break her normal attack sequence since she is not trying to trigger Vaporise.
Yae Miko | Fischl | Bennett | Chevreuse |
---|---|---|---|
Electro DPS | Electro DPS | Healer/ATK buffer/Pyro Battery | Healer/ATK buffer/Pyro and Electro RES shred |
This team is more Electro-focused. Yae Miko and Fischl are both great off-field Electro DPS, they can make up for the lack of a Pyro DPS.
Genshin Impact Chevreuse Guide: Constellations
Chevreuse is a perfectly functional unit at C0. C4 and C6 are her best constellations. Players can check this piece out for a detailed breakdown of Chevreuse’s constellations.
