Sony has been extremely taciturn this year when it comes to God of War: Ragnarök, prompting much speculation that the game will be delayed until 2023. Recently, sources claimed that the game has not been postponed and is in fact scheduled to launch in November, to be announced during State of Play before the end of June. Now it looks like we have confirmation that this is indeed the case.
Two weeks ago, Jason Schrier of Bloomberg reported that God of War: Ragnarok would be released in November, citing sources familiar with the matter. These sources also claimed that the announcement would take place in late June.
Now a leak on Twitter “The Snitch,” who still has an impeccable track record of leaks, has reported that news of God of War: Ragnarök will appear on June 30. The date makes sense, since Sony usually streams State of Play on Thursday.
Assuming the game hasn’t been postponed at the last minute, we should get new gameplay footage and a release date trailer confirming a November launch. It’s also worth noting that director Corey Barlog has returned to social media, further indicating that Sony Santa Monica is ready to end its period of silence.
God of War: Ragnarök may not come out in 2022, but so far all signs point to that. Will you buy Ragnarök when it comes out?
