There’s much to discover inside Hogwarts castle in Hogwarts Legacy. You’ll come across Demiguise Statues, Field Guide Pages, secret chests and rooms, and puzzle doors that you must solve with dice in order to open.
If you’re fearful of solving these dice doors because of the math involved, you won’t need to worry too much as they are quite easy to complete. Here is where you can find every dice door in Hogwarts and how to unlock their solution.

How To Solve The Puzzle Dice Doors
When you arrive at your first dice door, you’ll notice two triangles with numbers and symbols inside. Before you attempt to solve them, you’ll want to note that the symbols going around the door can be labeled from 0 to 9, as shown above. So, in order to find the missing symbol with either one question mark or two question marks, you’ll want to take the two numbers around the large number in the middle and add them together. For example, if the large number in the middle is 21, and you have an 11 and the Graphorn symbol, which equates to number 2, add the 11 and 2 together to get 13. So, in order to reach 21, you’ll need the number 8, which corresponds to the spider symbol. This will be your answer for the first triangle, and you will change the question mark dice to that symbol. You’ll then want to solve the other triangle and choose the correct symbol for the double question mark dice, and you’ll be able to open the door.
Long Gallery Dice Door
To find this door, start at the Bell Tower Courtyard Floo Flame. Then, head through the large door directly beside the Floo Flame and make your way down the stairs to find the dice door on the right. Here are the answers you’ll need to open the door:
- ? – Graphorn
- ?? – Unicorn
Charms Classroom Dice Door
Arrive at the Charms Classroom Floo Flame, and then head to the left to find the dice door just behind here. Here are the solutions to open the door:
- ? – Graphorn (Goat with tentacles on face)
- ?? – One-eyed Squid
Central Hall Dice Door
To reach this door, start at the Potions Classroom Floo Flame. Then, make your way down the hallway on the left and the dice door will be just across from the staircase. Here are the solutions for it:
- ? – Spider
- ?? – Three-headed Snake
Ravenclaw Tower Dice Door
Start at the Ravenclaw Tower Floo Flame, and then head down the short hallway on the right. The dice door will be on the right, just before the spiral staircase. Here are its solutions:
- ? – Fwooper (Bird on perch)
- ?? – Five-legged Furry Beast
Grand Staircase Dice Door
You’ll want to start at the Ravenclaw Tower Floo Flame for this door as well. Head down the hallway on the left until you reach the Grand Staircase. Make your way up two flights of stairs, and you’ll find the door on the left. Its solutions are:
- ? – Lizard
- ?? – One-eyed Squid
Dice Door Near The Great Hall
Begin at the Faculty Tower Floo Flame. From here, head down the path on the right past the one-eyed witch passage. Turn right at the end of the hallway, and the dice door will be just ahead. Here are the solutions:
- ? – Demiguise
- ?? – Five-legged Furry Beast
Faculty Tower Hidden Room Dice Door
Start at the Faculty Tower Floo Flame. Head down the path on the left, and you’ll notice a golden door on your right where you began the search for Demiguise Statues. Make your way inside here, and go up the stairs. At the back of the second floor will be the dice door. Here are its solutions:
The Great Hall Dice Door
Begin at The Great Hall Floo Flame. From here, go to the left and down the hidden passage on the left side. At the very end of the hallway you’ll find the dice door. Its solutions are:
- ? – Spider
- ?? – Three-headed Snake
Dice Door Near Divination Classroom
You’ll want to start at the Divination Classroom Floo Flame. From here, head through the passageway behind you instead of using the stairs. Make your way forward, and then turn left where you’ll find the dice door. The solutions for this one are:
- ? – Whooper (Bird on perch)
- ?? – Three-headed Snake
First Arithmancy Classroom Dice Door
Once you’ve unlocked the previous dice door near the Divination Classroom, you’ll enter into the Arithmancy Classroom, which has two dice doors. The first one we will go over will be straight ahead from the doorway you entered through. The solutions are:
Second Arithmancy Classroom Dice Door
The next dice door inside the Arithmancy Classroom will be just to the left of the first one. To solve it, here are the correct dice:
- ? – Whooper (Bird on perch)
- ?? – Five-legged Furry Beast
North Hall Dice Door
The last dice door will be in the North Hall. Begin at the Transfiguration Classroom Floo Flame, and head through the double doors behind the classroom on the left. Make your way straight down the hall, and take the flight of stairs up to the top. In front of you will be a locked door you can open using Alohomora. Once inside, head to the very end of the hallway where you’ll find the dice door on the left. Its solutions are:
