Honkai Star Rail’s Aetherium Wars event is being widely welcomed as an extremely enjoyable time. The event lets players take control of Aether Spirits, which resemble the monsters they usually face in combat, and deploy them in Pokemon-like battles.
While the event will be permanently available, certain rewards like Stellar Jades can only be obtained for a limited time, so you’ll want to grab them soon. To do so, players will need to solve puzzles and defeat all the Championship Contenders to win their Mastery Mark before they can continue. If you are struggling against any of the major combat encounters, consult these helpful tips to help you progress.
How To Defeat All Opponents In The Final Showdown
Once you’ve collected all your Mastery Marks, it’s time to take on the tournament. Ideally, by this point, you should have collected all the Aether Spirits and Enhancement Chips from the previous zones, and leveled up the majority, if not all of your Aether Spirits, to Level 6. It’s recommended you at the very least collect all the Aether Spirits, to give you flexibility in team building.
Luka
Luka is the first opponent you’ll face in the tournament. His team is composed of 3 Aberrant Aether Spirits and 1 Mechanical Overlord Aether Spirit. To take advantage of the damage bonus, you’ll want to bring Mechanical Spirits yourself, and depending on which Spirits you have leveled up, you could potentially bring Humanoid Spirits to make quick work of his Mechanical Overlord Aether Spirit.
Luka’s Team:
- Overlord Spirit: Automaton Direwolf
- Incineration Shadewalker
- Imaginary Weaver
- Voidranger Reaver
Best Team To Defeat Luka:
Aether Spirit |
Expansion Chips |
---|---|
Silvermane Lieutenant |
|
Silvermane Cannoneer |
|
Entranced Ingenium Illumination Dragonfish |
|
Entranced Ingenium Obedient Dracolion |
|
Best Strategy:
Although you have 2 Humanoid Aether Spirits on your team which are weak to Luka’s Aberrant Spirits, between the Silvermane Lieutenant’s shield and the Ingenium Dracolion’s healing, you should be able to survive comfortably. The priority is to take out his Automaton Direwolf ASAP because it deals a lot of damage. Use your Silvermane Cannoneer’s Support Skill on the Silvermane Lieutenant so that you can proc follow-ups every time he counterattacks. The Cannoneer’s Ultimate, which gives 2 bars of energy should be used either for the Silvermane Lieutenant or the Ingenium Dracolion to have at least 1 of their Ultimates topped up at all times.
Guinaifen
After beating Luka, you’ll face off against Guinafen. Her team has a similar composition to Luka’s, with 3 Aberrant Aether Spirits, and 1 Mechanical. However, her Overlord Aether Spirit is an Aberrant this time, so you’ll want to take advantage of its weakness to Mechanical Aether Spirits.
Guinaifen’s Team:
- Overlord Spirit: Blaze Out of Space
- Incineration Shadewalker
- Abundance Sprite Wooden Lupus
- Entranced Ingenium Illumination Dragonfish
Best Team To Defeat Guinaifen:
Aether Spirit |
Expansion Chips |
---|---|
Aurumaton Gatekeeper |
|
Warp Trotter |
|
Silvermane Cannoneer |
|
Entranced Ingenium Obedient Dracolion |
|
Best Strategy:
Between the Warp Trotter and Ingenium Dracolion on your team, it has incredibly good survivability. But what’s really amazing about this team is it’s less a 4v4, and actually a 6v4, since the Aurumaton Gatekeeper summons 2 Entranced Ingenium Illumination Dragonfish with its Ultimate. Make sure to use your Silvermane Cannoneer’s Support Skill on the Gatekeeper, since it not only procs follow-ups when the Gatekeeper attacks, but also when the Dragonfish it summons attacks. You can get up to 3 back-to-back follow-up attacks this way. Use this firepower to eliminate the Blaze Out of Space first, before going for the rest of the enemy team.
Silver Wolf
Third on the list of Challengers is Silver Wolf. Her team is composed of 3 Aberrant Aether Spirits, and 1 Humanoid. Each of her Aberrant Spirits are attack focused units, and the Humanoid is a supporter that lets them take additional turns and boosts their attack. You’ll need good survivability to win this fight, along with good AOE damage.
Silver Wolf’s Team:
- Overlord Spirit: Voidranger Trampler
- Voidranger Reaver
- Imaginary Weaver
- Vagrant
Best Team To Defeat Silver Wolf:
Aether Spirit |
Expansion Chips |
---|---|
Frigid Prowler |
|
Warp Trotter |
|
Automaton Spider |
|
Entranced Ingenium Obedient Dracolion |
|
Best Strategy:
The Frigid Prowler will essentially act as your hypercarry in this team. Make sure to place it on one side of your lineup, with the Warp Trotter beside it, because it will feed off the Trotter’s HP to enhance itself. Keeping your team topped up with HP should not be an issue since you have both the Warp Trotter and Ingenium Dracolion. Within the first cycle itself, you can use your Automaton Spider’s Skill to Enhance itself, and a Basic Attack to charge its Ultimate. With its Ultimate charged, target the Imaginary Weaver with it. The blast should take out the Imaginary Weaver and bring the Voidranger Reaver to the brink of death. Your Frigid Prowler’s next AOE attack should be enough to finish it off, leaving Silver Wolf with just 2 units. Keep the Warp Trotter topped up with HP, and keep buffing the Frigid Prowler, and both her remaining units will quickly follow suit.
You can use the Frigid Prowler’s Ultimate to attempt to Freeze enemies and interrupt their attacks.
Giovanni
Next in line is the mysterious host of the event, Giovanni himself. His team consists of 2 Mechanical Aether Spirits, 1 Aberrant Aether Spirit, and 1 Humanoid. It’s a balanced team that deals significant damage, so you’ll want strong defensive units on your side.
Giovanni’s Team:
- Overlord Spirit: Frigid Prowler
- Automaton Spider
- Everwinter Shadewalker
- Silvermane Soldier
Best Team To Defeat Giovanni:
Aether Spirit |
Expansion Chips |
---|---|
Silvermane Lieutenant |
|
Silvermane Cannoneer |
|
Warp Trotter |
|
Vagrant |
|
Best Strategy:
Your Vagrant will play a pivotal role in this team comp by allowing your characters to take turns as necessary. This will be helpful both in making sure your Silvermane Lieutenant can keep his shield up, and emergency healing can be provided to the team through your Warp Trotter. As always, you’ll want to use the Silvermane Cannoneer’s Support Skill on the Silvermane Lieutenant. This time, however, you’ll want to take out Giovanni’s Automaton Spider first, since its detonation attack can deal a colossal amount of damage. Focus on the Frigid Prowler next. You can safely avoid directly dealing damage to the rest of his team since they’ll proc counters on their own, and take damage because of the Frigid Prowler’s life-steal mechanism.
Topaz
The final duel before you face the fabled elite player is Topaz. Her team is composed of 3 Humanoid Aether Spirits, and 1 Aberrant Aether Spirit. You want to prioritize dealing extensive damage in a short window because her team is built for attrition, with a dedicated shielder, and the ability to summon additional spirits.
Topaz’ Team:
- Overlord Spirit: Senior Staff – Team Leader
- Grunt – Field Personnel
- Grunt – Security Personnel
- Warp Trotter
Best Team To Defeat Topaz:
Aether Spirit |
Expansion Chips |
---|---|
Voidranger Trampler |
|
Silvermane Cannoneer |
|
Imaginary Weaver |
|
Warp Trotter |
|
Best Strategy:
Topaz’ Warp Trotter can provide Shields to the entire team, and her Senior Staff – Team Leader has the ability to summon more Humanoid Aether Spirits. The longer this fight drags, the more disadvantageous your position will become. In the beginning of the battle, use your Silvermane Cannoneer’s Support Skill on your Imaginary Weaver, since they take 2 turns at the start of the battle. Prioritize dealing damage to the Senior Staff – Team Leader first since they deal the most damage and summon more Spirits. The Voidranger Trampler’s ability to take additional turns when it downs an enemy will be crucial, so make sure to use the Silvermane Cannoneer’s Ultimate to charge the Trampler’s. Once the Team Leader is defeated by the Trampler, the rest will fall like dominoes to its additional turns.

How To Defeat The Elite Player
Having conquered all the tournament contenders, only the mysterious Elite Player remains. And waiting for you at the end of this tournament is none other than the great leader of the Moles: Hook. Also, she has a small army of Aether Spirits with her.
This fight will consist of 2 waves, each of which will have 2 Mechanical Overlord Aether Spirits, and 2 Aberrant Aether Spirits. To counter this, you’ll need to bring the best survivability you have, and use their offensive power against them.
Hook’s Team:
Wave 1:
- Overlord Spirit: Automaton Grizzly
- Overlord Spirit: Automaton Direwolf
- 2 Imaginary Weavers
Wave 2:
- Overlord Spirit: Frigid Prowler
- Overlord Spirit: Searing Prowler
- Everwinter Shadewalker
- Incineration Shadewalker
Best Team To Defeat Hook:
Aether Spirit |
Expansion Chips |
---|---|
Silvermane Lieutenant |
|
Silvermane Cannoneer |
|
Warp Trotter |
|
Entranced Ingenium Obedient Dracolion |
|
Best Strategy:
Wave 1:
Your Silvermane Lieutenant is the main source of damage in this team, so make sure to use the Silvermane Cannoneer’s Support Skill on him to take advantage of his frequent counters. You’ll want to allocate your Silvermane Cannoneer’s Ultimate based on which characters get low on HP, and which sustain unit is close to full charge on its Ultimate. Target the Automaton Grizzly first so that you don’t get overwhelmed by the Automaton Spiders it summons. Prioritize the Automaton Direwolf next. You can leave the Imaginary Weavers to your counterattacks, since they don’t have much HP to begin with.
Wave 2:
In the second wave, you can target the Searing Prowler first. Keeping the Frigid Prowler alive will cause it to steal the HP from its surrounding allies, leaving you less work to do to finish them. Once the Searing Prowler is taken care of, focus your attention on the Frigid Prowler next. Make sure to play it safe and keep it on top of your shields and heals.
