Part of the beauty of the Yakuza series is all the secret items you can find scattered around Kamurocho, Sotenbori, and more. In the newest entry Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, players will find themselves stumbling on Gold Balls pretty often.
In total, there are seven Gold Balls you can discover in the game. While these might initially seem to have little to no use at first, they can actually yield you a nice reward once you’ve discovered them all. Here’s where you can find them.
All Gold Balls In Sotenbori
To start your search for all Gold Balls, we will be looking for the five located in the city of Sotenbori. Below, you’ll find the exact location of them, and how you can go about obtaining them.
Gold Ball #1: Ebisu Pawnshop
The first Gold Ball can be found at the Ebisu Pawnshop, shown in the map image above. The shop can be found in the southern region of Sotenbori. When you arrive here, you’ll be able to purchase the item from the seller for 77,777 Yen.
Gold Ball #2: Akame’s Hideout
For this one, you’ll want to visit Akame in her hideout in southeastern Sotenbori. When you arrive, talk to Akame and visit her shop. You’ll be able to get a Gold Ball for 777 Points. However, this will only be unlocked after you’ve invested in her shop and upgraded it twice. You can do this under the ‘Investment’ section when visiting the Akame Network.
Gold Ball #3: Kiss Shot Billiards & Bar
Similar to the Akame Network, at Kiss Shot Billiards & Bar, you can trade in points in exchange for rewards. You can earn these points by playing a couple rounds of Billiards, and you’ll only need 777 Points to get the Gold Ball in exchange. You can find the Kiss Shot Billiards & Bar in the southwestern region of Sotenbori. Inside, approach the employee in front of the Billiards table, and choose ‘Exchange Points’. This is where you can purchase the Gold Ball.
Gold Ball #4: Sotenbori River Boat
For this Gold Ball, you’ll want to take a trip to the river in the middle of Sotenbori. You’ll want to go only during the daytime, otherwise you won’t be able to find the Gold Ball. Make your way to the top of one of the bridges, either Iwao Bridge or Bishamon Bridge, and wait for the yellow boat to pass by underneath. Occasionally, there will be a man standing on the bow, and you can use the Spider gadget to pick up the Gold Ball from him.
Gold Ball #5: Shofukucho Street
For this Gold Ball, you will need to have first reached Chapter 4. During this chapter, you’ll receive a request called ‘Solve the Mysterious Note’. You can find this request in northern Sotenbori, on the Sotenbori Footpath, shown in the first image above. When you approach the man, he will ask you to solve the riddle on the note he found. The Gold Ball will be on Shofukucho Street, shown on the second map image above. The Gold Ball will be on top of the awning of a restaurant in the third image.
All Gold Balls In The Castle
There are a total of two Gold Balls that can be found in the Castle. You can visit this area by approaching Akame at her hideout, and she will bring you to the location.
Gold Ball #6: Castle Central Street
Once you’ve made your way to the castle, head over to the left side of Castle Central Street towards the Casino. In the corner here, you’ll be able to look into a small area of masked dancers on a conveyor belt. When the masked man in blue swim trunks passes by, you’ll eventually receive a prompt to use the Spider gadget to catch a Gold Ball.
Gold Ball #7: Fighter’s Lounge Entrance
You will need to have reached Silver Rank to be able to access the Fighter’s Lounge at the Coliseum. When you’ve done so, head to the entrance where there are a set of stairs going down to the lower level. Just here, there will be a giant statue. In between his legs, you’ll see a shining blue spot where you can use the Spider gadget to retrieve the last Gold Ball.
