With this new mode comes a learning curve. If you’re wondering how you can build up your team to take out just about anyone that steps foot on the stage, this guide will give you all the tips you need.

How To Recruit & Level Up Team Members

You cannot participate in Hell Team Rumbles without having team members to fight alongside you. There are a few ways that you can go about recruiting new members, including meeting them yourself in the Fighters’ Lounge, or having others recruit them for you.

In the Fighters’ Lounge, this is where you’ll need to recruit your first few members. Afterward, you can approach any new members that visit the lounge and recruit them for your team if you’d like. You can also visit Well-Connected Gyaru at the bar, and she can find new members for your team for 140,000 Yen. You can also meet people in the VIP Lounge who will hook you up with powerful fighters, once you unlock this area.

New team members can also be obtained through Akame requests. For example, the character Ryusei Tobashira is unlocked through the Akame request “The Strongest Convenience Store Clerk”. This will become available to you in Chapter 4.

As for leveling up your team members, you can obviously do this through entering them in matches, but there are a few other ways to increase their abilities as well. You can visit them all at the Fighters’ Lounge, approach them, and offer them a gift. You can give them gifts that will either increase their abilities, or their bond with you. For example, a Ceremonial Oath Sake Cup (Plum) can be given to increase your bond with a character a little. These gift items can be found in a multitude of places, with the Fighters’ Lounge Shop being the easiest method. Approach the Lounge Shop Clerk in the blue bikini at the bar, and you can purchase these items from her.

Another way to train your team is by visiting the Demon Instructor in the Fighters’ Lounge. He will be in a camouflage jacket with a fedora. He offers different methods to train your team members, with different results and prices. They will also have different time limits, with some taking around 10 minutes to 30 minutes.

How To Prepare For Hell Team Rumble

Once you have gotten a few members to join your team, you’ll want to prepare to take on a Hell Team Rumble fight. These will essentially be timed fights, where you’ll have four or more team members alongside you who will fight another team. In order to get a higher rank, you will have to finish off all the enemies in a certain amount of time. For example, Silver battles will give you a B Rank if you finish them off in 1 minute and 30 seconds, A Rank in 1 minute, and S Rank in 45 seconds.

Since these battles will have you fighting multiple people at once, it’s best to utilize Agent Style the most. This allows you to grab multiple enemies with the Spider gadget and throw them at others, taking out multiple enemies at once. You can also use the Serpent gadget to run into a group of enemies and knock them down. Overall, Agent Style is the best for multiple enemies, while Yakuza Style is great for single enemies.

Outside of Kiryu, you’ll also want to make sure you set up a good team. Each battle will tell you the difficulty, and the team’s Battle Power that you’re going up against. Although you’ll probably be able to do most of the heavy-lifting with Kiryu, you’ll want to make sure your team’s power is somewhat similar to the team you’re going up against. You can see your team’s Total Attack when you go to edit your team, as well as Total Health and Total Defense. Although you’ll want high attack, don’t forget to focus on the other stats as well.

Each team member will have different abilities, as well. Some will be focused more on dealing great damage to enemies, while others can recover the team’s health or raise their defense. On the front line, it’s better to have a character focused on attack, so make sure to put a powerful team member alongside Kiryu. For the other three (or more), you’ll want to have a mixture of healing, defense, and attack. However, we found that putting attack first will be your best bet.

Always remember that your team members can become exhausted, as well. You can recover them either by treating your team to champagne in the Fighters’ Lounge at the bar, winning a Hell Team Rumble fight as that team member, or talking to them and giving them a gift in the Lounge. Your team is just as important as Kiryu, so if they are weak, they won’t be able to help you take out all the enemies in a short period of time. Focus often on giving your team gifts and sending them to the Demon Instructor, and you should have no problem taking on the teams in each Hell Team Rumble battle.
